Ball when lanes breakdown...

I just love my Visionary Gladiator. However when the lanes breakdown I'm lost on the lane.
What ball can you recommend that gives you the length and control you need for when the
lanes breakdown.? I would want to have the Gladiator LE, but VBP are so hard to find in europe.

Depends on how broke down we are talking. I usually go to my Storm Natural Pearl but as I get more use to this urethane ball I find myself using it more and more. I used it exclusively for all 4 games Wednesday night on the Athens pattern.

Thanks. Good to know. I will look for the ball. I was also thinking about the ebonite cyclone. Does anybody has experience with this ball?

Cyclone is an incredible ball for the price, very angular downlane and great for drier lanes or when they break down good option for what you are looking for

I would go Motiv Primal impulse mine hits so hard. I have even given it a bit more surface so that i can use it earlier :)

Cyclone would be a great ball for dry lanes!! I am thinking of purchasing one for this very reason. I used a friends 14 pound cyclone a few weeks back and the ball nailed the pocket everytime.

That is an issue I am trying to wrap my head around right now...

I am currently in a Classic Travel League and with double sessions, the lanes get burnt pretty bad. I have a Marvel Pearl, but it's too strong. I have a polished Columbia Crossfire that goes nice and long, but it's very angular and leaves weak 10 pins. And believe it or not, I have a polished Hammer No Mercy that actually does a bit better than the other 2 because I guess it was drilled 'mild' and does not react quite as violently on the dry boards.
------Question: If I give a bit of surface to the Crossfire, would that smooth out the reaction?
-I am also thinking about redrilling a Grey Angle that I have in the attic (if it has survived), since all the latest rave is about retro Urethane balls and their supposed usefulness on dry lanes and maybe I can surface that to tailor it to the shape I desire?
-Also thinking about new equipment. A ball that I have noticed who's stats seem to be where I may be leaning is the Track 503C. According to BTM Reviews it's longer, less back end, less total hook, and most importantly the Torque is milder than the Marvel Pearl. Which to me means that I shouldn't be fighting for control of the breakpoint and reaction down the lane. The videos that are posted show an arcing reaction vs. a flip move. Dunno... it's been many years since I've had to deal with truly burnt/dry lanes and all my equipment reflects that.

If I know in advance that I might be hitting a dry, burned-out condition, I'll toss my Ebonite Red Wolf Pearl into my trunk. It was a monster back in the day, but now it's reserved for the desert conditions. You might have a ball like that sitting in your closet or garage that wasn't strong enough for today's oils, but great under the right conditions.
