I started out using RotoGrip balls, but the last 3 balls I've purchased have been by Track. I just like the number system, makes it easier to tell what each ball does. Anyone else using Track stuff? I am thinking about replacing my 919c with the 912t. I've used a friends 912t and I liked it a lot. I see a lot of Storm, and DV8 guys on here, but not a lot of Track guys. I do see a lot of them at my local lanes. If anyone hae a 912t, what do you think of it?

I use some Older Track bowling balls, and they work great on certain patterns.

I have not purchased any new Track balls because I watch how well others in my center are doing with there equipment, and not many are using Track, and those that are using them...Say they like them, but the scoring is not impressive due to over under issues.

Due to the above reason... I decided to stay with Roto Grip, Storm, and Brunswick, because they give me less problems with over under reactions.

My experience with Track is...When there on... they are really on!!! But when they are off, they are really off!!!!

With a Roto Grip, Storm, or Brunswick ball...I can adjust and make it work better for me than say.. a Track, Hammer, Columbia,Ebonite bowling ball.

Don't know why, but that's how it works with me.

So for me .. My pref is a ball that is very consistent!!! And I get that with Roto Grip, Storm, and Brunswick.

I have experienced consistency issues with my Track stuff, but at the same time I am nit the most consistent bowler. I know the 607a had a rep for being inconsistent, but as soon as I got it I shot my 3 best series in my season, in a 4 weeks span. Thinking of mixing it up, going with a DV8, or even Storm ball next.

I have a Track The Rising. Very inconsistent ball in my opinion. I also have a lot of Storm balls. Consistent balls that do what they say. This year, after a spat with Storm/Roto-Grip, I switched to DV8. Best decision I ever made. I've received great customer service and support from DV8 and the balls are amazing. Consistent and the hardest rolling through the pocket of any I have tried, roll after roll. They even sound different when hitting the pins. The best part, in my opinion, is the pins fly around on a low trajectory so the messengers get more pins. I missed a 300 with my Storm Natural Pearl last week when the pin flew OVER the top off the 7 pin. My DV8 Hell Raiser is so strong that I put one in the gutter, came off the back wall and knocked down 7 pins. It didn't count but was hilarious.

Trick balls? I would never do such a thing! After all, I am an honest person and would never resort to the use of trickery...huh? Oh, TRACK balls...never mind...;)

Interesting, I wonder why they're so popular around here if they are that inconsistant? It may just be that the two places I bowl most, the pro shops are owned by the same people, and those guys love Track. My wife would kill me if I told her I want to switch again, and buy 2 or 3 new balls. I've wanted to try DV8 for a while, and I wish I would have thrown one before I laid out the money for the 3 Track balls I bought.

Hummmm...I might have to give DV8 a try, Sounds interesting!! ...I like the description - "pins stay low and mix around a lot" :D

I like that trait in a bowling ball!!

I did some thinking, and some research, and I am going back to RotoGrip. I am going to have my pro shop order a Rising Star this week. I'm not going to say what swayed me back, but I read something today that made me smile. Plus, I have a Mutant Cell Pearl already, I had a Nomad Pearl that was sick, but it was 16 pounds and I had trouble with it, and I have a RotoGrip bag. Thanks to RotoGrip, and Storm for being a great, and accepting company, can't wait to destroy everyone in my league with my Rising Star.

Roto-Grip's bags are awesome. Glad you made a decision and hope it all works out well for you.

That was the reason I tried DV8 after reading a review on bowlingball.com where the person had the same reaction. I'm not sure if they were designed that way or if they just suit me better. Storm/Roto-Grip do make great balls with enough choices for any style of bowler or lane condition.

It's funny, I've read that same review for almost evey ball, by every brand. "Hits hard, keeps the pins low." Hey, if I win a DV8 ball from this site I would be very very happy to try it and compare. I wish I never veered from RotoGrip in the first place. As much as I like my Track equipment, I would love to have an arsenal of RotoGrip instead. I looked at the shirts, and Jerseys RotoGrip makes, and I love the look. Plus, I bowled my one and only (and probably only one of my life) 300 with my RotoGrip. Feels like going home.

My Mutant Cell also kept the pins low most of the time. However, my Hy-Road, Victory Road and Natural Pearl do not. I also have higher than normal ball speed which may also contribute to the problem. The review I was referring to wasn't (to my knowledge) by the manufacturer, staffer or ball rep but a regular league bowler. Staffers and ball reps have a very good reason to accentuate the positives, real or imagined, of their product.

Yeah, my Mutant Cell Pearl, and Nomad Pearl both kept the pins lows as well. Honestly, if the Nomad wasn't a second hand, 16 pound ball, I would probably still be using that. It was a wrecking ball, but because I don't use my thumb it was just too heavy. That's also why I'm thinking of going to 14 pounds, it may be easier to throw, and take less of a toll on me over time.

I've been thinking of dropping weight as well. I went from 16 to 15 last year and may go to 14 next year or so. My spare ball is currently 14 as I wanted a little more deflection for the baby splits.

Same here, my spare is 14, and it feels like it's less taxing to throw. I am almost definatly going to go with a 14 pound ball for my next ball. I was always worries that a 14 wouldn't hit hard enough. 2 months ago I had a really good series on bone dry lanes using just my 14 pound plastic ball, so that gave me hope.

There is a guy in our local house that uses nothing but track and does very well with them.

The last time I bought a Track bowling ball was somewhere back
in the early to mid 90's only owned the one and that was the last
one I ever bought. It was such a pathetic hitting ball and just so
inconsistent that it was really hard to break 150 with it and I got
so mad at it that I may have thrown it off the bridge and into the
river as I have been known to do that a few times before with other
pathetic balls like that I just took them swimming. :p
