Just want to make sure I don't regret going to 15lb; weight is only a strength/endurance issue if someone muscles the ball right?

The following link is to an article on determining the correct ball weight.

Its more about having enough wrist strength to deliver the ball with a consistent release than having enough arm strength.

I felt like my 15lb ball might be too heavy with a fully cocked wrist as I was bowling 11mph. Then I started relaxing my wrist at the backend, got little hook but hit 18mph with no problem. Recently I'm relaxing at the backend and flexing it again at the bottom and getting 13-18 depending on foot speed and follow through. Though I am able to get 14.5mph with a 90 degree wrist now. In short, I have no clue! First coaching session on the 11th and I can't wait.

if your not ready for it you can actually hurt yourself. Weight is important because of consistency like J anderson said in his comment. I throw about 18-20mph using 15lb. !lb would make a slight difference in speed but a change in how your release and on top of that you have to consider ball weight and rev rate because the 15 may hit harder but the lesser weight will deflect off the pins giving you better mixes.

With today's technology in ball development there isn't much of a difference in 14 and 15 pound balls.

I agree 100% with bill on this I'm throwing a 14lb. ball now and
before I took a 12 year break from bowling I was throwing a 16lb.
ball and the 14lb. ball hits just as hard and carries just as good as
the old 16 lb. ball did back in the day.
