Maybe I just don't know what to do with it. It seems to always come left of the headpin.. What line am I supposed to play?
Center of my shoe/foot, I think I was on 15 boards out from center dot to the left, then a little farther and a little farther. Tried a few different arrows but kind of the same thing happened. When it did hit the pocket, it was just... weak. Like 'poof'.
Good news is, I am getting accustomed to my new Tzone for spares and last game of the night I went an entire game with no open frames. Basically every frame needed a spare except for a couple.

Nobody can tell you just what line to play. Your style and the lane conditions will dictate that.
A basic rule of thumb is when missing, move in the direction of the miss.
If your right handed and you miss to the left, then move you feet left.

Yes. Bowl1820 is correct. Move your feet left while keeping your same target. How much you move depends on how far left you are missing.

I know what you mean about the Misfit wanting to go left! I was getting nothing but Brooklyn yesterday with mine. When I finally figured out to move left, I got some pretty sweet powerful strikes.

There is video of me yesterday. It's nothing but Brooklyns until the 2:10 mark when I finally move left and throw a few.
About 5 minutes after I stopped taping, I picked up the 6-7-10 split. Doh!

Your bowling style reminds me a lot of me, my hand movement at the top of followthrough was identical last year ( it has taken me quite sometime to get a slide going ). I notice your feet are quite spread apart and pointing outwards..

When you say you are starting 15 boards to the left of center dot. Are you standing at around board 35 when you start (about 5 boards from the left gutter)? or am I reading that wrong?

Yep when I walk my left foot points mostly forward and my right foot kinda points out to the right and does it's own thing lol. My bowling approach basically mimics that. Combine that with a lack of balance, and sliding for me is going to be a long, LONG term project :-)

It sounds to me like the lanes might be a little dry for that ball. It might be going in to the final roll phase too early when it hits the pocket, which is why it looks weak.

I think that is correct. So I've had to stand pretty far to the left. This being a bowling alley later at night, maybe hadn't been oiled for a while..

This matches my situation. It does roll out rather early. I'd assume it loses the energy as soon as it starts rolling out?
If I can get this ball to work, would I need a ball in between Vivid and Misfit?

I don't think you would need to get another ball between the Misfit and Vivid especially if your just bowling on house shots. If you ever bowl on more advanced oil patterns you may want to consider it but you should be okay for now.

Try moving everything right. Start out standing somewhere around the 25 board (The next dot left of the center dot) and make you target the 2nd arrow or just outside 2nd arrow (8 or 9 board) and see if that doesn't give you a little better line to kkep you on the right side of the headpin. If you are still hooking over to the left too much try keeping your hand more behind the ball as you releaseit.

to me i'll say move left and throw the ball left to right slightly from 15boards to 10boards or so to than the ball will go in a smooth arc..

I hope all these suggestions were after watching the video posted on another thread. You want your Misfit to crush the pocket? stand on 15 and aim at 8 with it breaking at about 5 at the 45 foot mark. The Misfit will hit like a feather pillow when the lanes get too dry. To solve that move JUST YOU FEET to the right and come up the side of the ball playing 5, aim 5, break point at 5.
When you move too far left with the Misfit is loses too much energy. There is a video under the ball reviews titles Misfit against the Critical Theory and Defiant that you may find interesting.

Hey you're on to something there! I have a lucky hat!
Actually I'm usually more animated than that. I was in deep thought during this practice session. If you listen closely you can hear the cranks turning between shots! :)
