I hope I'm not asking something that you guys have already beat to death on the boards...
I'm a fairly new bowler. About a year ago I decided to start getting serious about being a better bowler. Before that I was the casual person who only found myself at the lanes a couple times a year for a random occasion. I tend to make it to the lanes 2 or 3 times a month right now. I bowl for one to two hours straight when I go. So I'll usually get in 7-15 games at a time. (I take advantage of our lanes unlimited bowling for an hour at a time...)
About a year ago I also got a Brunswick Slingshot set up for me. I know it's an entry level ball, but that's what I need and I really enjoy it right now. My question is how should I consider keeping my ball in the best performing condition possible between trips to the lane?
I take a microfiber towel to rub the ball off in between shots, and I also have been using 50% rubbing alcohol on the ball before going out to the lanes. Are these methods I'm doing helpful, or do I need to be doing something different? I had thought about having the ball resurfaced again, but I'm unsure if even that would be necessary for me at the moment.
I'm just looking to hear how different bowlers maintain the performance of their bowling ball in between frames and games.
