So i went to practice today to get ready for my battle bowl event on Saturday. I noticed i was grabbing at the ball at the bottom of my swing right before release. I also noticed my speed was between 15-16mph instead of 17-18mph, is that do to the fact i felt like i was loosing it in the bottom so i was grabbing at it which also meant reducing speed? I also noticed i was getting to open when shooting for a 10 pin which meant i was making it past the arrows on the lane but it would be a direct line for the gutter, how do i correct that? My solution was weird but seemed to work i aimed my left foot away from the 10 pin almost facing the left gutter.

Grabbing at the bottom will affect speed because the ball won't come off your fingers at the same speed.
On the 10 pin; huh?

i noticed the grabbing happening with 2 of my balls but not with the others could it be the thumb feeling to big?

Thumb too big is the most common reason for grabbing.

Quickest solution would be to pop a piece of tape or two in the ball. If you're not used to using tape in the front use a piece of smooth black tape in the back. That should help equalize the difference between balls. Even though balls are drilled the same size, if you have had to work them a little after drilling with sand paper or a machine, they'll all feel a little different.
