I know that we all gather here to chat talk and ask questions and theres no doubt that we all love this sport rather were an amateur or better. There is no doubt that I do love me some bowling lol but other than bowling what else does everyone do for fun or hobby wise? just thought I would ask a random question lol

I just started getting into bodybuilding two months ago. No, i wont be doing anabolic steroid and won't probably go far as the guys you see on tv or commercials.

I've been overweight for all my life, well for the most part and i got tired of myself looking that way. So i decided to eat clean, loose fat then add muscles. Also, one day i was just browsing on the internet and i came across this bodybuilding forum, and there is a thread there called " fat to fit" where people would post their transformations pictures, whether they lost 30lbs in 3 months, or 150lbs in a year and a half. Those pictures motivated me to go to the gym 6 times a week :)

Last 3 years or so I've been trying to paint. I'm pretty awful at it so far though! I really wished I had learned to draw when I was younger. But when I think back on it, they never really taught drawing in school. It was quickly decided which kids could draw and which kids couldn't, and drawing was looked upon as some kind of mysterious natural talent. Which of course it isn't. Anywho, here's a couple of my paintings (it's notoriously hard for me to get a good photo of my painting. there must be some secret to it!):

Softball this summer. I use to seriously lift weights but stopped after several serious injuries not related to weight lifting. Between my 5 acres of yard, 23 y/o daughter, three step-daughters (31, 29, 24 y/o) and 7 grandkids (all step lol) somebody always has something for me to do. The oldest had a house fire in her laundry room about two months ago. I'm the one that cleaned, painted, etc....she got two months rent free just for me saving the cabinets. Her landlord is/was thrilled.
If I'm not at work I can usually be found at the bowling alley. Between three leagues, practice and coaching I'm there around 30 hours a week.
Damn, work 50-60 hours, 30 hours towards bowling plus family obligations, it's no wonder I'm tired! I have to work and won't give in on the bowling so I guess I need to give up the family lol

But most importantly I got a little princess who loves playing with her daddy so of course there is a lot of time there=) and by the sounds of it shes into bowling as well lol... She is 2 and if we mention like having to go bowl for league or practice shell look around and say I go bowing lol...

For me, it's music. Concerts would be the only reason i miss a night of league bowling. I have been to over 100 concerts and seen over 200 different bands. I used to take bass lessons but had to stop that buthopefully can start it back up soon or later. Also an avid reader of the Fantasy genre. Do PC work on the side when the oppurtunity arrises. Right now I am a stay at home dad for my gf's 3 grandkids who are also her foster kids.

I'm a karaoke junkie...when I'm not working or bowling. I've won a few contests, but nothing major. Wouldn't (and couldn't) try out for any of the talent shows on TV. Just not my thing. I work two jobs and bowl three nights a week, so when I get a chance to sing, watch out!

I work at a Bar and we have karaoke all the time. I swear I can sing better than 95% of the people that go up there.. but at least they have the balls to do it.. Shy talent here..

Haha I know what you mean Fatal, shy here also. My girlfriend tells me I sing well, but I think it's just a rouse to get me to sing in public...On the other hand she loves to sing, dance, entertain in public. I lean more towards the visual arts while she is the performing artist.

Softball this summer.
A buddy of mine just recruited me to play Softball with him this fall. I haven't played in years, man I was in for a surprise. I brought my Aluminum bat to practice, and he shook his head and said "don't even get in the box with that thing." I asked what they were using now, and he told me about the composite bats, that give you an extra 40 or more feet. I was shocked. I was also shocked when I saw the price tages. I though buying bowling balls constantly was exspensive. $300, for starters? Wow, good thing one of the guys has like 10 bats, and doesn't careif we use his bats. I also had no experiance catching a ball hit off a composite bat, not until the game started. The second ball hit to me, I got under it, and it bent my glove back, and I dropped it. I was lucky it didn't hit me in the face. Got another double header tonight, I'm going to beg to play the infield.

Congrats man, I have a 4 month old daughter. She may not be able to play yet, but I can spend a whole lot of time tickleing her.

Good plan, get closer to the batter so the ball doesn't have a chance to lose as much energy before it gets to you;)

It is a good plan when you have played short stop your whole life, and barley ever played outfield. Unfortunatly, our team captain is a short stop, and he stinks. He didn't show up ths week, so I played SS and played realy well.

A captain who doesn't play his position well and goes AWOL. Sounds like a mutiny is eventually in the works.

I play flag football on Sunday mornings. It's fun, and now that I'm getting older, playinf tackle with no pads just doesn't seem like such a great idea. I'm going to take up golf soon too, probably spend the winter at an indoor driving range then get out on a course in the spring.
