How to become a USBC Coach

I have been out of the Jr. program for 3 years now and i want to become a usbc certified coach. I know there's different levels so i just want to know where to start. I would like to help kids become better at the sport along with making sure they have fun.

Take the level 1 exam. It was $49 at the beginning of the year. Also get the RVP (registered volunteer program) at bowl.com to get the background check completed. That takes about a month and was around $25

Or you can go to one of the free USA Bowling coaching work shops if there's one coming up in your area. It is about 3 hours, you get a printed reference manual with the information that you would get in the on line Level One course. No test to take. You still would need to do the RVP registration, and the give you a handout on how to register.

thanks guys turns out USBC is doing a free one like J said, at my center on the 15th.

The Bronze Level course is a rally great, very encompassing course and it's reasonably priced. I'd love to get my Silver Level but it's big bucks and never in the Florida area. Just start at the beginning and work your way up....you won't be sorry you did. It's a great experience working with kids and watching them improve and hit some high games.

Reasonably priced? I spent $200 on the on-line courses just to have to pay $295 for the seminar. On-line it said the course cost may be refundable upon completion of the bronze seminar. No details on what qualifies for that refund. Silver is $495. These prices do not include transportation, hotel, food or anything, just the seminar/conference.
