I notice my ball is usually released when my swing is 7:30-8:30 on a clock (if my feet are 6 oclock and behind me 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 etc) or I should say my thumb is released.
Are you supposedly actively remove your thumb somehow?

Have you watched the video Analysis of the modern 10-Pin Bowling Swing and Release? The slow motion shows you what is really happening during the release. The thumb starts to come out as the ball reaches the ankle. The ball comes off the fingers at 7 to 7:30.

I might not be freeing my wrist soon enough. If i do I believe the thumb will fall out sooner

ball99999 it will take like a few weeks -month to get the corect timing of the thumb coming out it took me abit longer then that cause i use to put revs on the ball with my thumb and then i had no controll but because i was a new bowler it took my jr bowling coach some time to get me out of it and know for the past year i have had perfect releases thumbs coming out on the perfect spot for me and i can decent shots.

but how you release the ball if it feels good to you then it will take abit longer then a month to change to a sooner release with your thumb.

Thumb out at 6:00. To do that you need to thing 5-5:30. It's such a quick movement that most people need to try for earlier to hit the area you really want. I try to start breaking my wrist at 4 so my thumb can be out at 5 and released at 6. The speed of reality makes all that an hour later. Each time I try for "on time" I end up being late and have to go back to the earlier thinking.

I think I just realized that it's just gravity dropping the ball away from the ball. I MUST be holding my wrist in too hard because instead of the ball landing like an airplane I seem to drop the ball and hear a loud thump. Good for lofting maybe.

You will hear some thump. A big, loud thump is usually a good sign you're releasing late (arm into follow through, past the 'flat spot'). A ball with no noise would make sense to be perfect BUT you want a tad late so the ball goes 12-18" in the air to clear the dry (comparatively) spot every lane has at the foul line.

I have a few Juniors in the league that throw it out too far and I tell them to listen to the ball hitting the lane. When they do hear it drop right they come back shaking their heads and tell me "yup, I barely heard it that time". Bowling good requires a bowler to pay attention to several things that happen during the approach and after release, such as hearing your ball hit (when you think you're throwing it out too far) to watching the ball hit your spot and the following the path of the ball all the way off the pin deck. Your ball will tell you a lot of information if you really pay attention. Roll, breakpoint, angle entering the pocket, and results based on which pins you're leaving for making minute adjustments back on the approach. You will constantly be learning in this game as you improve.
