I have a new spare ball that works great, but I track dead center over the thumb hole! I know in a spare ball thats not a big deal, but for you power balls, I would think it is! I am close on that too, just off to the side, (tracking), and thats even after having them redrilled! I curious to see if my new relase will change the track! The guy that drilled my spare ball, knows my style of bowling, so I am wondering if its common for a spare to track over the thumb?

Where the ball tracks is a direct function of how you release the ball. I would assume the your new release will change the track.

Many bowlers will alter their release on spare shots even when throwing plastic to minimize the chances of the ball having any hook. A prime example is Walter Ray Williams, whose ball you can hear rolling over the thumb hole.

Normal, no. Does it happen to some people? Of course. 64 and changing releases. I guess it's true, you can teach an old dog new tricks. Hope it all works out well for you.
