Stroker's the smooth classic style of bowling, typically have lower rev's, lower back swing, more square to the foul line. They rely on accuracy and have a more consistent shots. Example Norm Duke
Tweener is in between Stroker and Cranker. more rev's and back swing, a stronger wrist position than a stroker. Example Brian Voss
Cranker Highest rev's, use big back swings (Though not always), very cupped wrist, open shoulders. Typically have "late timing" (foot at F-line before ball) and try to generate lots of area and power to cover less than perfect hits.
Cranker's tend to stand at the extreme opposite side of the approach
There are also variations of the above styles.
There is also the spinner style, not seen in the US much. More in Asia.
Plus the Two handed style

sounds like I need to get a coach for a little bit. Theres alot about the sport (techniques, slang, etc.) that I don't know. I bowled on league as a kid and now with house ball average is 155-165.

That's a great average with a house ball, in my opinion anyway. Getting your own ball with fingertip grip will probably raise that average at least 10 pins by itself. Comfort=confidence. Confidence=better scores.
If you have a way to get a video of you bowling we can take a look and let you know what style you fall into and why, if you're still not sure.
BTW, that wasn't even close to a stupid question lol
What will it take to get you into a DV8 ball?

Gee, don't be so subtle Bill. How will the corporate big shots at DV8 learn that they should be sponsoring your coaching business?;)

Billf...thanks and I was just looking at ordering the DV8 Misfit, but just won the nexxxus, I will be getting ball drilled this week and try it out this weekend, I will try and get some videos of my bowling, cause yes I'm still a little lost on my bowling style. Also with the nexxxus would a misfit still be good for a second ball?

The Misift would make a good additional ball. The Nexxxus that you won has a very sharp hook and made for more oil than the Misfit. The Nexxxus has an asymmetrical core which by design, has a sharper hook than symmetrical balls. Some people struggle to control asymmetrical balls due to their aggressiveness. Symmetrical core balls like the Misfit have a more rounded hook and are very controllable. The Marauder also has a symmetrical core and oil wise, fits between the Nexxxus and Misfit. Given that you will be using the Nexxxus I would suggest the Marauder over the Misfit UNLESS price is an issue. The Misfit is cheaper, being an older release. The Marauder price should drop in a few months especially with the new balls being released the end of this month.
