Hello all, I registered to ask one specific question.... What "type" of ball is my original Brunswick Rhino. It's not a Rhino pro... It's the standard Rhino in black. Its original surface was a matte black. I bought it when I was on a league in college.I know it is a urethane ball. I was wondering what type if weight it has etc. I also was wondering if bowling balls wear out or lose their action when they get to be well used and 20 years old. It has fingertip grips and is a 15 pound model. My average was about 160 in college. It currently sits at 135. I noticed it has a nice hook(as it always did) but I have far less control over it.It usually hooks to early.
Since golf league is over I decided to try a bowling league again. I also decided to look into a new ball. I settled on the DV8 marauder since the description is of a ball that goes longer down the lane with hook on the end. I've already ordered it because I have the bug bad! I plan on having the grips taken out of the Rhino and using it as a spare ball.
I've got a pretty good idea of the techniques and styles just need a bunch of practice. In my second league game I had 4 strikes in a row and almost broke 200. I can't wait to try out the new ball after I get it. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated. I am searching for info on the original because all the info on the net is for the Rhino Pro.

I honestly have no idea of what the rhino is. I actually threw that ball though a guy in my first league gave it to me and I bowled with it for about 6 months. DV8 Marauder is a ball I have and love.

You pretty much know everything about the Rhino already, it's a urethane ball, #15 with a basic pancake weight block in it. Be okay for dry medium to medium or a sport shot and /or polished up for a spare ball.

Unless you going to replace the grips with new ones, there's no reason to remove them to use it as a spare ball.

Thanks for the info..... My ball has shipped so it will be here soon.... I got the Marauder in 16lbs. I'm about 190 pounds and in really good shape. About a month ago I bowled 7 games in a row with my brother and didn't have any issues with wrist pain or soreness. Can't wait to get it to the pro shop to be drilled... Hopefully I'll practice and up the scores in league night. Learned a lot on this site already.

welcome to the forum. You will like the reaction with the Marauder. I would polish up the Rhino and keep the grips in it for a spare ball.

I have to agree with bowl1820 and billf on keeping the grips
in the Rhino and polishing it up for a spare ball and for when
the lanes get dry and everything else is hooking to early.
