This one's meaner than the last.. declare war on the pins with the DV8 Marauder Madness (http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-balls/DV8/10617/Marauder-Madness.html) bowling ball!

Description:

The blue/neon yellow solid Marauder Madness (http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-balls/DV8/10617/Marauder-Madness.html) adds more power to the DV8 product line at a modest price. The new Marauder Madness is clean through the front and digs in the mid-lane to create a strong and continuous motion on a variety of lane conditions. This stronger ball motion is a result of its medium RG performance core matched with the new Class 5G reactive coverstock. This special coverstock formulation maintains proper grip throughout the lane on medium oil lane conditions.

Pin to PAP(5 1/8" over 1/8" up) - 5"
Dual Angle Layout - 60* x 5" x 65*
Balance Hole - n/a

Surface Preparation - Out of Box (500, 4000 Siaair)

What I Was Looking For In This Ball Layout:
Well DV8 is saying that the Marauder Madness (http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-balls/DV8/10617/Marauder-Madness.html) is meaner then the original Marauder. From the looks of the ball out of the box it appears it should have more teeth.

I used a standard pin down layout to see what this bad boy can do. I am expecting this ball to start up sooner then the Marauder with a continuous motion off the break point. I know our buddies at DV8 were very proud of this ball and excited to see what it did for us.

What I Ended Up With in the Ball and Layout:
Oh my, the Marauder was a really solid ball release. It did exactly what DV8 said it would and they stepped it up with the release of the Madness (http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-balls/DV8/10617/Marauder-Madness.html).

My first comment after throwing this ball was...Did they get it too close to their high performance ball motion. I swear this is the strongest mid performance ball I have thrown in a long time. I think you will be hard pressed to find a ball at this price point that offers this kind of motion.

Off my hand it was a little earlier then I expected but it did not stop. I swear this ball just kept hooking more and more as it got down lane. The recovery area I had with this ball was incredible. I am a huge fan of mid performance balls because they tend to store up energy better and provide a more consistent ball motion for me. That is definitely the case here. The Marauder Madness (http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-balls/DV8/10617/Marauder-Madness.html) is possibly my new favorite ball.

You have not tried a DV8 ball yet, this is a great place to start. You will not be sorry.

I order mine tomorrow!! Can't wait till it arrives. :)

Edit - Oops should have paid closer attention - I'm getting the original Marauder, not the Madness. I might be adding this one later on though. Too many toys, not enough money lol.

I want them both but funding is currently an issue. I also want the Zombie and the Nightmare so I can have the whole collection at my disposal.
Am I biased? Not really. My average is up 30 pins since I started using bowling balls and not the air fresheners.

Haha bill, bowling balls are indeed nicer than air freshener's. be careful with that zombie ball, you might frighten the small children you coach lol

My youngest grandson just started the Batman Bumper league. They get a ball at the end like the Batman ball, Spider Man, etc. he was upset to learn that because he wants the Zombie ball real bad. He's 6.

Don't you have some pull at that house? I'm sure you could work something out so he could start his bowling career with a DV8 zombie ball.

They give the kids a certificate to redeem on-line. There are over 500 choices. It's some program the house joined and not their own.

Be the good grandpa sell the certificate on craigslist and use the money to order him the zombie ball then. ;)

That's a pretty cool deal though, you think you could find out the program name and PM me with it?

I just got back from my nieces bowling bday party and there were a couple of kids plus my nephew who really want to bowl. If I could get our lanes to run a league like that I could probably get the kids to join. I was playing on a lane next to them and they were watching amazed seeing a ball actually hook. I had to answer so many questions and help them with their throws, but it was fun seeing the enjoyment they got. The one kid came over to my lanes with no bumpers and was trying. He shot a 102 and didn't want to leave.

Dave, I will do my best to remember to get the info tomorrow night while I'm there. If your center does any youth leagues, you should become a volunteer coach. It's a blast working with the kids. That 102 is higher than some of the scores in the bumper league lol

If my nephew does join a youth league I will try and get down to the lanes and help as much as I can. I was pretty surprised at the kids who managed to get strikes with those light balls. I tossed a couple with them and the deflection of the ball off the pins was amazing. I know if I ever leave that lovely 5,7,10 again I'm grabbing a 8lb ball from the rack to shoot it with.

Haha, those light balls are awesome, i once saw a kid throw one so slow it hit the head pin dead on and it stopped.... after the pinsetter cleaned it up, what was left was a 4-7-8-9-10.... was hilarious
