My new ball should be here any day. After I work the weekend I plan on going to the pro shop. If they can I'll have them watch me throw the old Rhino so they have a better idea of my (lack of) style. I was wondering if a balance or "get back hole" is needed in every case. I typically (with a 20 year old urethane ball with grips) throw a hook with back end motion when I can get it hooked up at all. I cup my wrist, put average rev's on the ball and throw pretty hard. I've been told I throw it kinda hard although I'm not trying to or muscling the ball. Average is about 140. Thought the Marauder would help me get more action at the end of the lane while still going long which is what I'm used to with the Rhino.

The answer to that question is no you do not have to have a get back/balance
hole on every ball that is drilled. Most of the time the hole is there to get the
ball back to legal static side weight/thumb/finger weights and sometimes it
is put there for a little more/less hook but not always.
