PBA Turning Back the Clock on Membership Prices
Join now and pay what the founding members paid 50 years ago

SEATTLE (Nov. 11, 2008) — In celebration of the organization’s 50-year anniversary, the Professional Bowlers Association is turning back the clock on membership prices. You can join the PBA between now and Dec. 31, 2008, for just $50, the same price the founding members paid back in 1958.

“Our goal in this 50th anniversary season is to have fun and make it even more attractive for bowlers to enjoy our sport,” said Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour CEO and Commissioner Fred Schreyer. “In 1958, PBA founder Eddie Elias asked the 33 founding members of the PBA to contribute $50, so the idea behind this promotion is to pay what the founding members paid. This is our holiday gift to our legion of fans.”

Previously, the fee for joining the PBA was $99 initiation or $198 reinstatement, representing a 50 percent discount for all new members.

There are valuable benefits of becoming a member of the PBA, including:

• Discounted games (free to $2) at PBA Practice Centers (see pba.com for listings).

• Discounted product from the most trusted names in bowling and PBA Product Registered Companies.

• A chance to order the latest balls, shoes and bags directly from the manufacturer.

• Reduced entry fees at PBA tournaments.

Another added benefit of becoming a PBA member is that there are more spots available for aspiring PBA bowlers during the event’s tour qualifying rounds. Five spots are open compared to only one spot for non-members. More than $9 million in prize money is awarded each year on the PBA tour.

To become a PBA member today, go to: https://www.pba.com/members/join.asp and download the application form that applies, fill it out and return it to the PBA.
