Hey folks - just wondered if any of you have ever purchased a blemished bowling ball? I have my eyes on one online straight from a manufacturer that has blemished balls listed at half msrp. They have them available in every weight which leads me to believe it was a bad run of them. What is said on the page of the sale is the following :

This bowling ball may have a color, surface or marking imperfection and cannot be sold as a First Line product. This blemish will NOT affect its performance.

I've used blem's before and had no problems. The thing to watch for is pro-pin and pro-cg balls, depending on how far of they are. They can limit your layout options.

Be sure to double check exactly what your ordering.

I've bought blems before and haven't had an issue yet. The latest blem I received had the CG kicked out. It works great. My favorite ball ever was a blem.

Slashing 50% off the price makes it almost a no brainer to pick up a blem ball. I have had a couple of blem balls the one I really had no idea what was wrong with it, the color was a little off I guess. The other one had a long pin that like bowl1820 said limited drilling options.

What is this website?

I wouldn't mind buying one, after I bowl the balls all have tons of marks on them.

I've had 15-20 blems over the years. Most were either color or engraving blems. A few Global/AMF balls were pins over 4 inches

Ok just looked up the ball you were talking about. Not a very good deal. The MSRP is not what they ever use.
The most expensive balls are are usually $140-160.

Elite bowling balls are the most expensive and always have been. The ball being offered for $100 has a msrp of $300 on most major bowling sites. Have a look on bowling.com and see for yourself. I'm not saying any bowling ball is worth that sort of money but I've always wanted to try a elite and if I was to do it this would be the avenue I would go.

Ok so they're regularly expensive. Do you think they're goingto be better than the best stuff from storm or Brunswick?

Couldn't say for sure as I've never tried to throw a elite before. I can say that if I was to buy it that it would cost me less then my storm vivid that I'm unhappy with. We are starting to stray off subject I was just wondering about blemished balls and if I decide to buy a elite that's really my choice. I might not buy it at all - I might wait for the new dv8 releases. Just wondered about blemished balls for future knowledge
