I need recommendations for a light oil ball. I need something that has some hook, but, not a lot as I will be using it for a 34' sport pattern and most of what I have might be to aggressive. I have been looking at the Karma's(Not sure which is less hooking between dull-pearl),Vibe(Same as karma),the new Motiv Venom Strike,Natural Pearl,U2 Classic,Cobra or anything that has slightly more hook then Slingshot.

Thanks for the replies!

well the ball i like for light oil is my c300 freeze and when it comes down to just alittle oil on the lane it moves hard for me but i also got a high rev rate and a slower ball speed about 16-17 mph ......... old ball speed 19 mph.

Misfit is too strong for that short a pattern. I used the Storm Natural Pearl this past sport shot season and it worked well. I was actually surprised how many times I went to that ball either at first for short patterns or third game on longer patterns.

With my slower ball speed for thaat length pattern I would use either my 900Global Hooks or My Motiv Ascent (@4k plus polish)

Urethane is money on anything 35 feet or shorter usually i used a blue hammer with some surface on the 33 foot sydney and averaged around 195 for 5 games on the day

Zothen,

For a short sport shot, I HIGHLY recommend trying a urethane to control the breakpoint. The Seismic Desperado LE is a great urethane ball. It is the only urethane on the market with a asymmetric core.

Here are a few videos of it:

Best of luck on the sport shots.

i have a pin up versa max with the finish at 2000.
and when the lanes start to go from medium oily to light/real light . it's some times too much.
i really want to take it up to maybe 4000 and try it on light patterns.

Hammer Blue Hammer urethane would be good for light oil. It has 5 different layouts for mild to wild reactions. It has a surface of 800, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Abralon. It has a controllable hook and you can bowl more direct and a shot between the first and second arrow.
