im looking for a new ball. i have recently been throwing the dv8 misfit and am really happy with this ball but need a little more aggressive ball for the heavy oil nights. i guess i would call my style a stroker syle. ball speed around 13-14mph and i have never measured my revs but my best guess would be about 275 maybe 300. i have been looking at the rest of the dv8 line and was thinking the reckless or the too reckless might be a good addition to my bag. what are your thoughts?

If you are thinking of sticking with the DV8 line look into the marauder madness or the hell raiser terror. I think you would be able to play on more conditions with one of these versus the reckless line. Like the rest of the deviants though, you will eventually have all of them.

Depending on the conditiond you bowl on either of the Marauders would be a good choice. I would probably go with the original as it is a hybrid and would be a little more versitale in a small arsenal

The lane condition thing is tricky. I bowl on the same lanes every week but the oil is never the same which is why I want multiple balls. Some nights there is very little oil and some nights you can see a rooster tail coming off of your ball *** it spins

davec the hell raiser terror might be alittle to much for him think hes coming off the misfit and he wants something for heavy oil that we could control soo the dv8 hell raiser would be perfect would be great but so would the dv8 marauder madness.

so i guess now im between the original hell raiser and the marauder madness. the marauder madness is $15 cheaper on bowlingball.com so i guess that was the tie breaker.

How about the DV8 Nightmare,Roto Grip Defiant or beserk,900 Global Frieght Train,Columbia Violent Eruption,Brunswick C-(System)Maxxed Out or neXus or hammer Taboo?

Given the style and estimated rev rate, I'm with Stormed1, the original Marauder. With the hybrid coverstock it has more control. Going to an asymmetrical core can be problematic for bowlers who are not use to them.

you would suggest the original marauder over the madness? and what exactly is the hybrid coverstock that is on the marauder?

Exactly? I don't know, that's proprietary information. Basically a hybrid is a combination of two types of covers. The Madness would have you playing a lot further left and swinging it out than you currently do and would require a higher amount of oil to complete the skid phase properly than the Marauder. The Marauder is a polished ball that clears the heads easily, has a good mid-lane read and strong once it reads the friction. The Madness has a matte finish and would burn up easier when the lanes started to dry up.

thats the interesting thing about company secrets, the name they give in could be completely inaccurate and simply be a marketing tool lol

Yeah, at least 80 feet long to have room for a pair of practice lanes...Oops! Wrong thread!

What's the problem you're having with your Revenge?

More like 100ft :p You could probably get away with 80, but if your going big you may as well do it right.

I just ordered the misfit and get it Wednesday, I was thinking my next ( more aggressive ball) would be a marauder. Then the third would be.....insert dv8 ball of choice, maybe the hell raiser series to complete my total arsenal( I think)

it looses energy in the middle of the second game, i dont like switching balls. i want to stick with one and a spare ball, though revenge is a very nice ball

that is just about the closest pro shop. there might be one a little closer but i dont know of it and i have been happy with the guys at this one. its probably better this way. if i had a pro shop in town i would be broke.
