Hey Billf, were you serious about moving out here??? You might want to call this guy up! If I had the money and/or credit for a loan, I'd jump all over this.

I'd be a little concerned, it says buy the snackbar and lease the bowling ally...
any why the confidentiality agreement? top secret pizza recipe at the snack bar? LOL
Alley does look nice though, all be it small...

i would do it but as lockwood pointed at that i missed is the lease on the alley if it was buy the alley and snack bar then i would jump on this.
i got a idea we should get everyone here on bowlingboards to throw in some money i mean alot of money to get this 40 grand and we all can split on it and we got are own practice lanes that we dont have to pay to bowl but there can still be league and open bowling so we still make money.

if we had wormhole generators at our disposal this might be feasible lol
all i have to say is this looks sketchy... how can you "own" the snack bar without owning the ally? lawyer double talk if you ask me...
they also look like wooden lanes, so would require a lot more maintenance....

Aw you guys are ruining my fantasy, lol!
I bought a Powerball ticket today, that's about as close as I can get to getting this kind of money together quickly. In the extremely unlikely event that I win, I will definitely be checking this out. If I do win, I will be purchasing and fully renovating a bowling alley somewhere in this area (either this one or another one elsewhere) and you all will be invited to come down for opening day, with free bowling, beer and pizzas for all bowling boards members! :)
If I don't win and one of you picks this up, can I get free bowling since I found it for ya? :D :D :D

The wording of the whole thing makes me walk away instantly. Buy snack bar and lease alley? So during the sale do they come in and do a survey and tape off where your "ownership" ends and where the lanes begin? And something is not right if they won't sell the Alley with the snack bar. I am guessing this is a losing venture where the owner is trying to hold on to the property and to get someone else to do the grunt work. In the end that grunt work which may pay off ends with the lease quickly ending and the owner taking back his alley's to assume your hard work. Just what I see and my idea of what might be up.

You're probably right. Besides this one is located in the east valley, I'd want one closer to home (or better yet IN my home, lol). Still, if I had the money I'd at least inquire about it and find out more. Maybe if the price was right, the owner would sell the whole thing, you never know.

The lease could be due to the fact the lanes are not owned by the person selling. The snack bar could be the only physical part of the property you can legally buy.
I know a lot of restaurants lease most of their equipment, so when they sell they legally can't sell the equipment but they can sell the building and you have the option to lease the equipment. We just recently purchased two new fryers at my restaurant and they were 3 grand each. The worst part is they are nothing special just a 50lb 2 basket fryer those fancy mcdonalds fryers are $20,000+
So by looking at the home lane prices $180,000+ for a pair of lanes times 6 pairs comes out to roughly 1.1 million dollars. Not many people have that cash to start a business. The only way to start the business would be to get a lease.

Makes sense Davec13! That's likely the case.
Ohhh if I only had the money for this, I'd be on the phone right now asking these very same questions. Come on, lottery ticket! Daddy wants his very own bowling alley! :D

40K isn't that bad though. That's not even a decent new car nowadays. With that little kitchen you could make a killing, if you know how to cook that is.
The true question would be what is involved in the lease. How much per month, is there a per frame payment involved, who has to service the lanes, ect, ect.
