My Tuesday league was canceled last week due to Hurricane. No problem with that. My league was canceled again tonight. Sign on the door to the bowling alley saying 'closed due to hurricane damage.' The problem with that is I bowled there on Friday and Sunday and my son's youth league bowled on Saturday morning. Seems very odd to me. Just venting. Thanks for listening. Back to regularly scheduled programming.

well it sucks when you are thinking about bowling and it gets cancelled. Maybe the workers had some hurricane clean up stuff they were taking care of at their own home.

Just think though you'll have two extra weeks at the end of the season to make up for it.

How in this day and age do people not communicate with email? I don't get it.

Because like a hooking bowling ball we are in transition. There are more ways to communicate with each other than ever before. There are still some people who see no need to have a computer. There are some who try the newer technology but prefer the ways that they're used to. Also given the storm damage in New Jersey, power for electronic devices, phone, and cell phone service have been in short supply.

Got a call an hour before on my cell phone from a number from the same exchange as the alley but since I was driving I let it go to voice mail. Whomever it was didn't leave an message. So they may have tried to contact me. Not positive though. It doesn't seem the be the best run bowling alley but its close and cheap. No big deal really just wanted to bowl.

Not too far off. My daughter spent the money for a 4G phone and is ticked we don't have 4G service out here. Verizon was shocked as well. Cable TV isn't even offered here. Yes, I do have indoor plumbing and running water lol
I also have about ten deer standing in the back yard right this second. A view worth the trade off of no 3 or 4G service.

If you'd like more we'd be glad to send you some from CT. With the housing density here there are few places to hunt, and the local PETA members are always looking to reduce the number of places where its allowed. Evidently they feel its more humane to run the excess deer over with are cars.

Then you need to get the 30-30 out and get some dinner.

Nope. The 160 acres I live on are hunter free. I get enough venison given to me that I don't have to clean or cut up.

Cleaning and cutting the deer is half the fun bill. I have cut up a couple deer so far this year for friends and taken a few choice pieces for myself (backstrap). I call that payment for giving them a hand doing something they should know how to do themselves. My wife refuses to eat it so I only take enough for a meal for myself.

I have had three deer offered to me so far that I've turned down because she just will not eat those cute little deer. I will butcher them and donate the meat if I have time though. To hungry people meat is meat.

A few years back, a local homeless shelter or soup kitchen refused to accept venison that a hunter was donating because the director felt that hunting was immoral. While I don't hunt, having been raised by a mother who didn't even like it when I was given cap pistols, I see nothing wrong with hunting as long as the meat is being eaten.
