I know you said you don't use plastic, but the hammer taboo spare ball fits your wants pretty well.

I tried out one a couple of weeks ago and it really was a nice ball for being plastic. 1-3 boards movement without even trying to much.

Plastic, entry level, high performance does it really matter? All that matters is making ALL your spares, not how you make them.
****so plastic is fine for the pros but not good enough for you? just kidding******

Sorry. Seems I misunderstood your post that you don't use plastic. I thought you meant you wouldn't use plastic. Plastic has some advantages, like not having to change the release to go fairly straight.

Slingshot is the least hooking of the balls. It is the next ball up from plastic.

thats what your reactive ball is for, you have a spare ball for making single pin spares easier, when it comes to the 10/6/8, just use your normal and throw a hook. now, getting a light hook ball can be a very useful arsenal addition, not just for shots such as this, but also for when you find yourself on very dry conditons, in which case a urithane ball might be perfect.

lol my logic was that on a corner shot where you need to hit the 6 at an angle which would send it at the 8. doing so by throwing corner to corner would not be possible without a hook. so in my mind your options are throw a ball straight up the gutter or hook it in.
regarding the fact that you have a spare ball already, i'm officially confused as well:confused:

Lately I've been using my Marauder for everything except spares on the left, where I need to throw it straight to pick 'em off. Even if it's a ten pin, I just throw the DV8 at it and let it hook right in there and take it out. Very satisfying. :)

i do the same, i know exactly what adjustment i need to make to hit anywhere on the lane with a hook (except 10 pins) i can hook and hit 10 but i'm a lot more accurate throwing straight

A Blue Hammer urethane ball is good for dry lanes. You can use it for single pin spares or if the lanes are dry you can use it for more direct bowling for pocket strikes. You have a wider target with more direct bowling. I have a Blue Hammer and I can put the toe of my right shoe on the third dot from the left-I am a lefty-and throw between the first and second arrow and putting a lot of revs on it and it will still hit in the pocket and not on the brooklyn side. A 14lb weight is just right for me.

I throw corner to corner for anything on my ball side whether I'm going straight or throwing a hook. I actually have been hitting all 6 pins with my 10 pin mark. It sends the 6 where the 7 should be and still cleans out the 10. It's good practice for the 6-7-10 during the game. The 6-8-10 I've never left it. 6-9-10 I have a can get that either straight or hook also.

That or just give the giant his ball back. That would definitely throw off your accuracy and swing lol

with that ball id say my ten pin pick up % is like 90% and my 7 pin like 60% ( i hate the 7 pin good thing i dont leave it alot right? lol) the giant is my brother he's 6'6 lol

Instead of using plastic try a Hammer Blue Hammer or a Columbia U2 Classic which are both urethane. I have the Blue Hammer which I got recently and was practicing hitting the 7 pin-I am left handed- and I had no trouble getting it without having it hook at the last minute and missing it. So I can make the blue go straight or on my first ball hit it with some good revs bowling between the first and second arrow and getting a nice controlled hook to the pocket for a strike. If you need more or less hook you can always change the surface for more or less bite. So if you have a ball with a layout that isn't working for you then work on the surface to adjust the ball.
