I am not sure that this is in the right area so if it is not could a mod move it to the correct area and also if not I do apologize.
Now onto the question. I see some common names such as my user name Shannon which is my name but I also see some unique user names here. How did you come up with your user name.

Cool question, haven't seen that asked before. Mine is just the beginning letters of my first and last name. 24 has always been my favorite number since I was knee high to a grasshopper.

scottymoney

Scottymoney is my nickname from High school/college days.
Scotty being my name and the money part comes from one of my friends I worked with for a few years at a grocery store. He asked me what I wanted to go to college for and then as a career when I grew up. My answer was of course something to do with money (nowhere close to what I do now). So instantly he coined the name Scottymoney. Later it became a joke with my friends as most of the time as a young guy I was bad with money and spent it on dumb things. So they started to refer to it like the mob having a guy named tiny who is actually this super huge guy. They used money as a name to refer to the broke guy! Well anyway I still hold onto the name and as a 29 year old guy I am now very responsible with money although still paying for my past! Now only if I would have listened to the whole "how to save money" speech.

I live in AZ and I'm a bowler, so yeah... I guess that's why. I didn't really think about it, I just wanted to register so I could ask a question in regards to getting a new ball, so I went with the first thing that came to mind.

LOL!!!!!
Fine......75 has an interesting story behind it, one day on the way to bowling i found a loonie (Canadian 1 dollar coin http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loonie) i looked at it and it was minted in 1975 (very important to the story) anyway, i had the loonie in my pocket the next day when i went bowling, and i used it to enter the 50/50 draw, well the number on my ticket was 7575... so im like ok... this is strange. anyway i go bowl and 20 minutes later they call my number! guess what? i won $7.50 LOL so ya... thats the tail of my lucky number
it also happens to be the number of kids i had with my 75year old mistress (mike you do know i'm 17 right?) LOL

You sound like my friend Jeff who is a Pastor and of German descent. An avid bowler, I think he's more of a cat person, Though he and his family do have a dog to go along with the cats.

Hampe
11-09-2012, 04:08 AM
I got my middle name "Hanspeter" from my uncle who died when my dad was still a kid. Hampe is the shortened version of Hanspeter. Back when I still played football here, once my roommate found out my middle name he told the whole team so they all started calling me Hampe after that instead of Paul. Now I usually use it for forums and stuff since it's practically never taken :).

Ok lets vote on it.
Who thinks Shannon is cool name?
PM your vote to TampaBayBob.
I figure it will take forever for "Florida" to finish the count, and even then it will be disputed.
P.S. Don't harass TampaBayBob, I just had to find someone in Florida.

My username is a nickname my friends gave me a few years ago. It was after an incident at a pool hall. Some drunk woman, who none of us knew, came over to watch us play. She was sitting in a spot that made some shots difficult. After asking her to move a few times, and her response only being a dumb drunk smile, I lost it. I grabbed her beer and poured it over her head. As I was being escorted out by my boys, I just cursed her out, and made some nasty comments about her. While we were at the diner, my buddy goes, "that was some sinister s@@@ you said to her.". From then on, when I showed up somewhere it was "there he is, Mister Sinister.". Not proud of that night, but I got a cool nickname out of it.

Well remind me never to be blocking your pool shot lol. But if you did ask her to move she should have done as asked since you take your pool game seriously lol.

I don't take pool seriously at all, I take stupidity seriously. Before the little incident, I has asked her to move twice. When she just gave me the dumb "I' too drunk to understand what you mean" smile, I just said screw it, and lined up a different shot. In the final case, I only had one shot left to play.

got_a_300
11-22-2012, 02:17 PM
My user name kind of speaks for itself got_a_300
as a matter of fact over the years it has been more
likely between 30 to 40+ 300 games and around 10
or more 800+ series.
I just wish all of them had just been in sanctioned
competition or at least in sanctioned leagues then I
would hold the local association record for the most
sanctioned individual 300 games and individual 800
sanctioned series.
It is kind of funny but when you're at the lanes pot
bowling with friends or bowling in a non-sanctioned
league / tournament that is when you really shine and
bowl your best.
LOL!!! maybe I need to just pretend in my mind that I'm
just pot bowling with some friends or that I'm bowling in
a non-sanctioned league / tournament every week. Then
when I go out to bowl in my regular sanctioned bowling
league that might just take some of the pressure off and
I'd start getting more of those sanctioned scores.
Rdmonster
11-23-2012, 05:47 PM
Rdmonster is short for roadmonster. This is pretty much always taken so I stick with Rdmonster. I am a motorcycle freak of sorts. Have had alot of bikes so it kind of fits. Right now I have a custom 2001 Road King Classic....I also own a Ducati 1098. Yes these two bikes are totally different. One is quite comfy and soaks up the miles. The other one is a screaming beast that would just as soon buck you off if you dont know what your doing.
I at one time had a limited edition Ducati Monster...the last of the liquid cooled models. Went into a turn to hot and ended up turning it into a bent up pile of parts. Over 10K in damages on a 17K bike. I also broke my sternum, dislocated my right shoulder and ruptured some tendon sheaths in my right thumb.
That was almost it for the Rdmonster...back of my helmet was cracked and busted...the bike actually got me home....radiator was busted off it's mounts but didnt leak....crooked handlebars....bent forks and frame....super pissed off wife....I'm older now but not much wiser. The 1098 makes the monster look kind of tame.....but I love it!!

Mine came from a combo of things. First, my name is Rocco (even though everyone calls me Rocky or just Rock) and an wrestler from back in the 90's named Rocco Rock. I was a huge ECW fan, and he was a big part of that company. Sadly, like many wrestlers, be is no longer with us.

Firstly the "ss" is an ode to one of the shows I watched as a kid. Gilligan's Island - SSMinow
Secondly the "ss" is the initials of my favorite G.I. Joe character Storm Shadow.
I throw my name in there at the end.

My name goes way back to the dial up era of the internet. It was my first user name on prodigy (pre AOL) when the internet was just a big chat room with some random newsgroups. First name middle initial and 13 is just my number.
ArtVandelay
12-02-2012, 10:17 PM
Art Vandelay is George Costanza's alter ego in the show Seinfeld. He is an importer/exporter of latex products, and (if memory serves) in the series finale (SPOILER ALERT!!!) I think it turned out Art Vandelay is a REAL person, and he turned out to be the judge who presided over the trial of the main characters.
Classic show!
