I think that a couple years ago he said he was trying it out since with his normal style he doesn't fare as well on the conditions that favor the high rev players.
I'm only a year older than Walter Ray. I think I'm still in pretty good shape, but looking at the two-handers, there's just no way I could do that without hurting myself.

That looked awkward for him. After he threw it and left a pin up he had a fist pump. It almost looks like he was mocking his own shot.

perhaps he thought it was gonna be a split and was happy for getting what he did lol.
its interesting that he is trying to learn a second style in order to stay competitive on certain patterns.

I watched a decent portion of the WSOB and didn't see him using the 2 hand release at all. I am wondering if this is from a practice session and was just looking to see what it did.

He's been doing that for a while. He did it back in the 2008 PBA skills challenge to pick up one of the spares. I also read a story of a tournament in 2009 (I think) when he wasn't bowling well, he switched to two handed. It shocked the bell out if everyone there. There's a few videos of him doing it. Let that be a lesson to anyone who says the two handers won't be able to bowl that Sat when they get older. Walter Ray is in his 50' s and pulls out two handed every now and then.
Oh and BillF, clean out your inbox. I tried to PM you but it bounced back cause your inbox is full.

I agree about it looking awkward. Yeah, it's probably practice. Based on how fast everyone gets up and throws. Looked like another guy was about ready to step on that lane.
Anyone have that article on him about this? I think I also remember him talking about it or someone talking about him possibly doing this. Interesting.

I've only seen walter throw that 2h when it didn't matter. I don't know him personally though.

Bowled with him in Indianapolis back in March and he did it on the fill ball in the 10th. Went brooklyn and carried for a strike. I got the video on my cellphone.

It's Walter Ray. He could reverse two hand a golf ball and get a strike.

It's clear. Who fills their inbox in less than a week? I was saving the messages calling me names but he isn't that important to me.
