The Shatter I won about 4 weeks ago, I had drilled this past Saturday. The reason I waited so long was because I wanted to try a dual angle drilling pattern and couldn't make up my mind which way to go. I finally laid out the ball myself on the dining room table and brought it to my driller on Sat. I used the 4 x 4 x 2 layout, almost exactly as in the paperwork/drilling sheet that comes with the ball, and all I can say is WOW. I also had him put in a weight hole, about a P2 location just below the PAP on the ball. The ball goes very long and snaps back like a banshee. Went out and tried it, first five balls were strikes, finished with 238, then 223. Third game messed around with different lines and hand positions and didn't break 200, but that was ok.
Because you have a much higher ball speed than I do, I would ask your driller for recommendations. This layout might not work for you because of your speed. It may slide too much before hooking. I'm very pleased with the reaction and can't wait for league on Thursday night.

I have a speed of 17-18mph(Includes +2mph for speed gun)and about 250 revs. I am a down & in player. I prefer playing up 7-10 board or up 5 board depending on what lane condition i'm bowling on. I will stand anywhere between 15-22 board depending what line i'm playing.
Talk to your pro shop and tell him exactly what it is you want the ball to do? Will it be your benchmark ball(Go to ball)? Will it be for when lanes break down, etc? The pro should give you a good layout for what you want to use ball for.
Much success with your new ball!

You could try a 50 x 3 1/2 x 30 layout or something similar. It should respond quickly when it transitions which is good for the higher ball speed and has the strongest pin position and create the most flare which is good for the low revs. It is a good ball you should like it quite a bit!

With low revs(under 300?)you would be considered a stroker.
