I guess this is a little late but I'm Hugh Campbell and I live in NC. I'm 72 and started bowling about 3 years ago. My league average is 140 and my high game is 216. Trying to learn all I can as I never bowled before and I really enjoy it. Used to play golf and tennis but a knee replacement killed those two. I'm a retired businessman. Hope to learn a lot on this site.

First of all, welcome!
Secondly, you're never too old to learn something new. Sounds like you're off to a good start already, 140 is a far better average than mine was my first 3 years of bowling. :) What type of ball are you using? Also if you can, upload a video of yourself bowling and folks here will be glad to offer tips and advice on how to improve your game.
Last but certainly not least, keep having fun! A bad day bowling is still better than a great day at work. :)

Welcome, there's s guy I know around here with a similar story. He's in his 70's and he is recently retired. He was bored sitting around his house alone, and needed a hobby. He didn't want to take up golf, he didn't want to be outdoors too much. So decided on bowling. Spends a lot of time at the lanes, and he has gotten pretty good. Don't know his average, but I watched him bowl a lot of 180-200 games. Good luck on the lanes, any questions you have you are certain to get quality answers here, it's a great site, with great people.
