I read through a lot of the post regarding wrist supports and gloves etc, what Im really looking for is something that'll support my wrist and keep me from over revving my ball, I have a tendency to really crank up the revs blowing right by the head pin and striking somewhere in the 2/4 pin section. Any thoughts?

I personally never liked the glove or wrist support, I'm sure there's going to be a time where I am going to have to rely on a wrist support. I just feel that when I did wear one, I never got as many rev's as I do now. But if you're hitting Brooklyn as a right hander, maybe you need to move a couple boards left and shoot the same line?

do you have problems with your wrist? (pain) if not then my recommendation is practice! a wrist brace shouldn't be used when you don't have issues with your wrist, you will become dependent on in which is not a good thing, controlling your rev rate will come with practice, you need to work on keeping your swing free and your wrist position constant. it's not easy but you can do it :D

No, no pain or wrist trouble, just some serious revs with low ball speed, The Alpha Max I had was was to much and the DV8 Misfit seems to hook hard too. I'm hot and cold and scores are all over the place.

It sounds like you need to pick up the ball speed a bit, what ball weight are you using?
if you want to lower revs, keep your wrist straight as apposed to cupped, and don't muscle the ball! its possible its less of a rev problems and more of a pull problem...
would you be able to post a video of yourself bowling?

I throw 14, I've been working on generating more of a follow through, I have seen an increase in speed but not enough to make a substantial difference in hooking. I can try and get a video of it.
My ball speed is horrendous, around 9.8 mph normally. My coach (dad) told me to lower the ball in my stance and hinge, not push away. I thought he was crazy but did it to shut him up. It got my feet moving faster and made my delivery more fluid. I immediately saw an increase to 11.5 mph and now with practice am in the 14 mph range averaging 14.3 mph.

kmf, its funny you say that, my stance was started with the ball at the hip, I then went to a more upright, with my elbow locking into the side of my waist, I think throwing the ball out (push) may be creating a figure 8 swinging motion, which may cause more revs, Im going to try and get out today for a few games and go back to my hip approach.

The figure 8, if too exaggerated, can also lead to inconsistency issues. 250 revs are all that's needed to get proper ball reaction, especially on a THS. The average rev rate on the PBA tour is 420 with the medium being 360.

billf, inconsistency was the issue and the figure 8 was killing me. I got out this AM before things got busy with the Sunday crowd, I settled down, concentrated on form and follow through, dropped the ball back down to where I use to start, (waist high) standing on the 30, throwing over the 15. Bowled excellent and Im very pleased, I went 173, 191, 144. As for an average of 131, I wasnt really disappointed with the 144, but missing a couple easy spares and some light hits made me work through 9 and 10 to finish that well.
I kept the wrist brace/glove the pro let me borrow in the bag never once thought about putting it on. Thanks for the help guys.
