Any thoughts on best ball, and drilling for burnt up lanes during league play? All my balls are grat on good fresh oil, but into the second game and always the 3rd game they go west of head pin! I have a Terror/Lucid for oil,,,,, then the Maruader, and the Madness for medium/heavy, but really nothing for burnt up dry paths to the pocket.

Maybe a pearl ball or a urethane ball drilled with a layout for a mild hook. Then you can use different grades of Abralon pads to change the surface of the ball to hook less or polish to make the surface of the ball travel further down the lane before hooking.

Slingshot is really nice on the dry!

I liked that movie,,,, and was thinking about the Storm natural, wondering how it would do on synthetic lanes? I thought they, urethane were good on wood?

Scout Reactive or Blue Hammer are good for me

My favorite ball for light-medium oil is the Storm Natural pearl. It gets through the front with ease, and hooks alot at the end. you could also try the tropical breeze hybrid if you want a little more backend.

remember, I get way to much hook as it is with the dry lanes (at the end of the lane)! I want a ball with less hook at the end for dry lanes. Thanks for all your advise, I will think about each and everyone of your ideas!! I might spend the 30 bucks firt and try to make a Undefeated as weak as possible, maybe talke to our local expert, Bruce at Strike/Spare

Mike, a urethane with a strong hook at the end is totally different than a high performance, heavy oil ball with a strong hook. Basically the urethane, if drilled correctly for you, will hook very similarly in the dry as your other balls do in heavy. It won't hook much, if at all, in heavy oil. You have to compare apples to apples, not apples and oranges.

apples and oranges are very similar, both round, both fruit, both bright colored, and grow on tree's, i would think a more appropriate saying is don't compare bowling balls to pins :D

No Ben. Read it again. Like apples and oranges have a lot of similarities, so don't heavy oil balls and dry balls.

Dicks sporting goods has their Ebonite Nitro on sell for 29.95!!!! In all weights, including drilling! I don't want them to drill it, but even then it would only be another 30, plus 10 for the vise thumb insert, plus insurts for the finger holes 10, total 50 bucks I am going to run up there and get one today!!

what's wrong with that? its not meant to hook lol, i can see it being a little extreme when going from the marauder to something that weak....

from what i can tell, yes it's less aggressive, a lot less aggressive, you may find it a lot weaker than you think. i think an entry level ball would be a better choice, misfit? :D

Bill does know more though.... bill go!

ITs been marked down at my local Dick's Store! NOT ON LINE! Believe it or not that includes drilling regurlar, or finger tip!! I think I will take Bill's advice,,, and get either a cyclone, or MIfit!

Pancake weight block is what they use in spare balls. The only hook potential therefore would be the urethane coverstock. Hook potential would be about a 1/4".
The Misfit is much stronger than the Cyclone. The only way it qualifies as entry level is price and of course, being one of the original DV8 balls. Get the Cyclone and enjoy the third game without having to move.

We are but grasshoppers, blowing in the wind! Bill knows how far we hop, what direction, and how high! Bill can go outside his body, (not unlike Remote viewing) and see all!

(Google remote viewing) it can be done, and Bill has mastered the art form! Let us all hope that he uses these special powers for good only! I am not going to purchase the Pancake Ball! I will instead get whatever my guru says would lead to better bowling, with my lack of style bowling!! Lol

Bill is now a guru!!! All knowing! Give me a list of good balls, more then just the cyclone, (((my wife has one))) And I will pick one, Guru!!
Are you totally against Storm??? I like the fact, (as you know that they are using American workers)!!
