I got this too. Problem for me is that these are all balls for conditions on the dry side. I'd like to get a ball a bit more aggresively drilled than my Misfit so that I could use the Misfit maybe by the 3rd game when the lanes start to dry out. Who knows maybe I'll break down and buy one after xmas.

I could wait until I win a ball here but omg who am I kidding, that will never happen :D

Pan,
The idea of the program is for new league bowlers to purchase a new ball in hopes that it will spur them to continue bowling. In this case they are giving entry level balls at the discounted prices. It is also good to have one of these balls even for non dry conditions when the lanes may call for a much straighter/less hook shot. An entry level ball may be exactly the right ball in that situation.

Same deal that I had posted. I'm going to go with the Tropical Breeze personally. Gives me the most variety for my set of balls.

4 to 6 weeks to get the ball??? Come on, it only takes a week to get a ball from Bowlingball.com and that's using the free "slow-boat-to-China" ground option.

If I could humbly make a suggestion to the USBC, I'd say partner up with a site like Bowlingball.com and get those new balls out to new members faster! Good grief...

He should take the coupon if the is on their list. I have been taking them and still haven't received an answer to why I'm listed as a coach but not for the free lesson.

Well, if you want to give a free lesson so badly, want to drive to NJ and give me one?

Spend the extra $20 and get it in a week! Then like Bill suggested, use the free coaching coupon instead.

Sure. The lesson is free but you pay expenses. Gas and food would be all I need. I love bowling alley food. Good thing I don't eat it often or my arteries would be stuffed.

Any one of these will be great on a typical house shot. I don't think they expect you are going to be bowling tournaments with fresh sports shots.
