What do you guys do with your old balls?

So over the years i've accumulated quite a few balls. a few i've given away, one or 2 i left on a rack at the bowling alley and one i lost :(

right now i have about 6 balls sitting in my room that i don't use. after christmas i plan on re doing my whole arsenal so i'll have another 4 balls i wont be using anymore. They're really in no condition to sell as all these bowling balls are pretty old...my newest one being no less than 3 years old. Just wondering what you guys do with your extra ones that you don't use anymore?

I gave mine to my son - he's just starting out and we have the same size hands and both bowl left handed so it was a great fit for him and saved me some money on a new ball for him. I might have it plugged and redrilled though because my first ball was not drilled properly and doesn't have inserts for the fingertips.

Lawn ornaments :P they look great in the backyard with the case of pins i got when my old ally closed its doors :D

I take mine to work, and do release drills on the cement floor. Eventualy they crack, and I throw them away. Either that, or I experanment with them, such as drilling one with a Sarge Easter grip.

I take them to one of the local alleys and put 'em in the rack.

I put them on the used rack at the pro shop I get my balls from. The money I got was used to help fund my current ball arsenal.

i just give my old ones to my brother, hes a 2 handed bowler so it really dose not matter much about the thumb but the rest i have laying around here i just leave them under my bed i got about 13-14 bowling balls already and still going to be buying some more.

1. Do you happen to own your own cannon? Nevermind, bad idea...
2. Paint them orange and put them out on Halloween as jack-o-lanterns with the finger holes as the face.
3. Put one on each end of a long metal pipe that fits in the thumbhole - instant free-weights!
4. Need to prop open a door? Put a short piece of pipe in the thumbhole and then prop in front of door of your choice!
5. Winter's here, you can epoxy three of them together and spray 'em down with fake snow - instant snowman! Put a carrot in the thumbhole for added effect.

Come on guys, help me think of more... :D

Being a super hero, and 64 years old, I know a thing or two about Old Balls!! They might be old, but they have given me many happy Memories!! I play with them and they have become such a part of me, that to give them up would cause great pain!! Bowling balls are like a part of me! I could never give mine away, and will play with them until the day I die!! (:(

Not sure if people know this but you can stack bowling balls using the thumbholes. I would shy away from using your own, but during moonlight bowling years ago we used to have contest for stacking the crappy lane balls to see which lane could stack the highest. Usually around 5 was the winner. If you do try this, it is best to make sure to start with heavier balls on the bottom and gradually getting lighter as you move up.

Yeah this has nothing to do with the thread but maybe it will give someone an idea for using their old balls.

Nothing dirty about old balls!! Not if you keep them clean!! That's why I purcased a spinner!! Much more fun, and it gets the JOB done QUICKER!! I higly recommend one!!

I forgot to mention, I do wear rubber gloves when I clean my balls!! I think it keeps the hands from absorbing cleaning fluids, and just gives a great grip on situation!
