Christmas Songs

I grew up on the Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra type of Christmas songs, but this year I never got around to putting them on my ipod, and decided to use the radio in my office instead. I've heard these songs in the past, and never liked them, but for some reason they REALLY bothered me this year. Probably just because the radio repeats them every hour.

It's not McCartney that bothers me, I like him a lot. It's that stupid synthesizer! Why do we need that re-verb/echo???? Mr. McCartney, you have Yoko Ono'd my Christmas Spirit.

The OTHER song that really bothers me is "Santa, Baby." I don't need my Santa Claus sexed up. The man's MARRIED to Mrs. Claus!!! For shame!!!

On the OTHER hand... In addition to all the Crosby/Sinatra type songs I grew up on, one of my all time favorites has very LITTLE to do with Christmas, but I've long been a fan of the late great Dan Folgelberg. Something about this song makes me think of Christmas.

I used to think Bob Rivers was funny, when I was a kid. To me, just doesn't stand the test of time.

This is a really dedicated forum to bowling! Not many Christmas posts other than things like, "What type of ball do you want for Christmas?" I'm impressed to the bowling dedication!
