Ok guys, I am supposed to bowl in a tourney tomorrow. However, I think I've caught a bit of the flu bug. I felt like garbage last night, and this morning. After heavily medicating myself, I feel a little better. My temperature is down, and I stopped throwing up. Maybe it's because I haven't eaten anything. If I can hold some food down, and don't feel super weak, I am thinking about still going. I will have to lower my expectations, but I still want to do it. Any of you ever bowl when you were sick? Right now I'm leaning about 80% on not going, but I'm thinking about it. It's not a big tourney, just a local handicapped tourney. I just want to take part in it.

If you think you are still contagious, I would not go as a courtesy to others. Otherwise, if you are feeling strong enough might as well go check it out. I bowled in my league last week and I was still getting over my cold I have had for about a month now. Probably not as sick as you are, but still wasn't 100%.

Tough call, on one hand its bowling, on the other you don't want to get worse by pushing yourself. i'd say go if you feel up to it and your not coughing/sneezing to much. if you do go however, don't lower your expectations, always aim for perfection, you are what you think, if you think your going to bowl below average, then you will.

In one way, I want you to get off the couch and bowl. On the other hand, I don't want you coming down and getting me sick! Yes, Sinister and I are going to be bowling in the same tournament. In fact we were planning on bowling on the same lanes. maybe not now, keep you germs away! Seriously, feel better, and maybe I'll see you tomorrow.

Don't go! You may still be contagious not to mention your body will be fatigued trying to fight the infection. Also you may become over heated as your temp will go up due to physical excertion and your body trying to fight the infection.

Unless I have a miraculous recovery, I don't think I'm going. I'll have to wait until another day to whip Rocco.

I think not going is the right choice. Why be miserable? Give your body time to heal.

Often times Ive found rushing myself can set back my progress towards recovery. Plus, i cant drink when im sick, and theres no way i would bowl well without my talent juice!!!

I have bowled sick as a dog. I'm talking running to the can after my shot kind of sick, barf can by my side at the table, sick. I bowled well too. It helped the mental game to not even care about how I bowled. I also go to work that way. I can be home and miserable or be out doing what needs to be done and miserable. I'm also the moron that bowled blind so what the hell do I know.

If you do feel like you can go, stay away from others and no high fives! When I had a virus about a month or so ago, I just stayed away from people and told them I won't be issuing or receiving high fives because I don't want to spread it.

Maybe I'lll go and wear a surgical mask while I bowl. I feel terrible right now, so it's not looking good. Don't even know if I can get the ball into may backswing without dropping it, I'm so weak. I hope the worst had passed, but I think the worst is here now.

No way, man. Its just not worth it. Cut your losses, stay home and get better. As a matter a fact, i think you owe it to the other bowlers as a sign of respect. Its bowling, its fun. Skip it. Dont be miserable. Youll have no idea how you do anyway because youre not healthy.

I can understand not wanting to miss something important at work. Work is your livelihood. I go to work sick when i have to, because i need my job. But this is a hobby. Id be pissed if someone got me sick while bowling just because they wanted to see how they would do.

Stay home. Dont even think about going any more. Your last pist answered your question for you.

Not being able to hold the ball into back swing is a good sign that your to sick to bowl, not to mention that you'll most likely get weaker as the night wears on,so why risk collaspsing from fatigue and ending up in hospitol. Stay home and get well to bowl another day!

I wanted to go, but I am just not up to it. Today the vomiting returned, so I don't think bowling right now is a high priority. There will always be other torneys.

Thanks everyone, I feel better after a nap. Not enough to bowl, but not miserable either. I started the Ginger Ale this morning ater losing my breafast. Made the wife go get some. I'll just lay here all day and watch the 30 Bowl games on TV today.

Missed a good one. I pretty much repeated my Thanksgiving result. With handicap, Thanksgiving I went 798, today I went 799. My buddy went 801, because the book said he had a 110 average. If he used this years average, he wood have gone 720. Cutoff for the money was 820's, and stepladder was high 830's. I was much more consistent than Thanksgiving. That night I had one monster game that made my night. I had one good game, and two bad games, but that one game was a 313 w handicap. Tonight, I has one bad game, then 3 good games. I was making spares so well, only 5 opens in 4 games. For me that's good. 3 of those misses were splits. I had fun, and I can't wait to do it again.

Good bowling. I was slepping while you were laying it down. Would have been fun being there, and trying to keep up with you. Next time for sure.

Good shooting Rock, but too bad you missed the cut. As for Sinister, some of the best nights I've had during leagues was when I felt crappy or sick. My wives (2) never understood the premise of going bowling while sick. I tell my team mates that the ONLY excuse for missing a night of bowling............. IS DEATH. So unless you're in a morgue somewhere SHOW UP !!
