Hey Guys,

I have been trying to register here for a little over a month here now but had some issues getting activated but finally got validated.
I am pretty new to bowling, I recently got into it as a hobby mid/late last December as a hobby to keep my mind off somethings and needless to say I really started to enjoy it.
I picked up a green/white DV8 Misfit and fell in love with the ball.

I bowl thumbless, which I know is a big "No, no" but for me it works for now, I have some hand issues and the thumb just doesn't work for long periods of time; although, I have been doing my best to learn that technique as well cause it looks way cooler bowling that way. I recently just last week bowled my two highest games ever with a 232 and a 220. I was pretty stoked, but needless to say I find myself searching for game constancy, Ill bowl a awesome game, fall of the next then rebound or bowl another poor game then rebound. I think its because I am always trying to implement new technique into my throw then when its not working I can't find that place where I was before.

Well anyways, it's great to finally log on and post! Nice to meet you all.

Welcome to the board, this is a nice place be. Helpful tips and plenty of knowledge from the members. I have been able to improve my game just from posting and receiving tips from this site.

I would agree with you, my major issue is consistency with my approach, arm swing and release. It can be frustrating but in the end I know I haven't been doing it long enough to have it all figured out, thats where the members here with experience and time under their belt really help out.

Glad you made it and take care.

This is why I love to bowl against no-thumbers!;) Just kidding, sort of.

Repeat after me;"There is nothing wrong with bowling thumbless." This is especially true if you have a physical problem with your thumb that keeps you from using it.

Scores are just numbers on a screen, don't get hung up on whether you hit a particular one or not. Work on having a basic game that works on the lane conditions that you most often face. Get it to the point that everything on the approach becomes automatic. Figure out a system of shooting spares that works for you. After that then you can experiment with changes knowing you have a base line that you can always go back to.

Welcome!

Thumbless bowling is perfectly acceptable and when done well can be very powerful.

All Bowlers are welcome here! (unless your name is Bill LOL jk)

Welcome to the boards.

Nothing wrong with bowling thumbless if that is the style that works for you :)

Welcome!

If you have issues with the thumb and feel comfortable bowling without it, I recommend trying two handed. It adds the stability without losing the comfort.
