i always knew that getting a ball fit to your hand made a difference, but last night i saw just how big a difference that it can make.
i was throwing my versa max for the first 5 games trying to get my revs back up after taking a month or so off of bowling.
it just kept wanting to fall off my thumb, so i had to squeeze to keep it on my hand.
the last game i bowled i switched to my nexxus which, has a wider span with a relatively same sized thumb hole.
that 5mm wider span made a world of difference, as i didn't have to really hold on to the ball, it kind of just held on to me.
i was able to cup more at the bottom, get more revs, throw it faster and my accuracy was with in a couple boards of where i was aiming every time. (that's amazing for me) i usually throw it wide 3-5.
and scored my personal best of 244, with 7 strikes in a row 8 in total.
now the dilemma is, do i plug and redrill my thumb for the versa max or should i just retire it to a spare ball, and get something similar? OR drill the alpha max weak that's been sitting on the side forever?
