you got any suggestions on what brands you want to bowl with or do you want to stick with hammer but also you have to tell us how you bowl.
IE: tweener/crancker/stroker, ball speed, rev rate and the other stuff if you now it
me: i'm a power tweener, speed:17-19mph, rev rate:550-650

I had to look up those terms lol I've never heard them before.... But I guess I would be a stroker I am right handed and start on the far right dot and I dont know my speed but I throw it hard and fast even using a 16lb and it goes straight for about half the lane than curves into the 1 and 3 pin.... Sorry I cant be more help than that, and as for balls I dont have a preference really but I like the dv8 nightmare but I've looked up alot of balls and they all have different stats and im not sure what would work best for my bowling style or if it matters

well is there a proshop in your bowling allie if there is talk to the pro shop operator and ask him if he can check and see what your ball speed is and see if he can figure out what your rev rate is but if you do throw fast and say have high revs then the nightmare is too much of a ball i got high revs and i use a entry lvl ball throwing it out to the 5 board and it hooks in really hard more then my other balls but my other balls are 14lbs.

I have a pro shop by my house I just switched to fingertip about a month ago, I found my old ball in my garage and took it in to get it resized and he talked me into gettimg fingertips which at the time i wasnt sure about but im glad he did but now that im used to it i want to start looking into gwtting a better ball.... But i definately will go in and talk to him and see if he can determine my speed and stuff and see what ball would work best for me... I was just hoping to get something different so right when i walk up to the rack i know what ball os mine right away lol everyone seems to have the same color ball im using lol

lol yeah but remember to keep in mind 1 thing if your going to start a arrsenal its good to have 2 different brands this year im going with track but have not decided the other brand yet. last year i went DV8 and 900 global but did not like my 900 global ball that much it was going down the lane to far before it made a move.

I just dont like looking like an idiot asking a bunch of dumb questions lol im 25 and just picked bowling back up after about 12 years because my girlfriend wanted to join a league with our friends and I forgot how much I love to bowl lol back when I got my ball hammer was the best of the best and there wasn't so much to choose from lol now its confusing and there are different cores and so many companies and balls for specific needs its almost overwhelming lol but thank you for taking the time to help it is greatly appreciated

as fishhawk said don't worry about the questions that's but makes someone get better at bowling is question about something they do not now i have asked a lot of questions on here and also asked alot of quest's to my pro shop operator and he helps me out with anything i ask if it a price on something but i don't just get a price for 1 ball i ask about a few and i remember the prices and then think of the balls later and watch some videos and see how the ball works then i decide if this ball will work good for me or not.
on the forums here no question is a dumb question.

As an ambidextrous bowler, I need to pick two. Right-handed my favorite is still the Hammer Black Widow that I bought used 4 years ago. I also have a Storm VG Nano that carries better but is a little harder to control. I can get the Black Widow to hit the pocket on all but the driest of lane conditions.
Left-handed my favorite is is a Storm HyRoad.

There are a few im looking at and would like to buy and was wondering if anyone has used them and what you guys thought, i just like the way they look lol the DV8 brutal nightmare, Motive 2cruel, and a guy a bowl with swears by the global freight train, I also really like the epidemic but i dont think they sell it anymore

well i have only thrown one of those and thats the motiv 2cruel its a very long ball with a big backend move but if you ever played on fresh heavy oil this ball would slid down alittle to much even thought its a skid/snap it still dose go to long and sometimes dose not hook in enough but a better motiv ball to look at is the "motiv raptor talon" great ball has a early hook so you dont have to worry about it not hooking but it dose not have as strong of a backend as the 2cruel.
well the brutal nightmare hard to say anything about that ball but my brother has the nightmare and i brother got it drilled pin up right above ring finger about 1inch and my brother throwns medium speed with medium rev with a off the side release, off the side release means his hands comes uop the side of the ball and it revs 90 deg from the angle its traveling. and he likes it sometimes when it will hook and other it wont but because of me createing more revs then him and having a different tilt i can make the nightmare hook on any angle i throw it.

Steve, welcome to the forum. The Nightmare would work well for you given your style, speed and starting point. It's a strong ball so as you develop more as a bowler you will be able to move around with this ball.
My favorite is the Marauder while the Storm Hy-Road is the most versatile ball I've ever used.
