I have recently gotten serious about my bowling, so I have been going to a lot of youth tournaments that are on house/sport patterns. I've noticed that my ball arsenal isn't quite as full as some of the other kids, and I was wondering what balls would help me out. I was looking into the Natural Pearl.

My bowling specs are in the sig, and here are my balls;

Hell Raiser Revenge

Storm Sync

Hammer Jigsaw Trap

Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl

Brunswick T-zone (I hurt my thumb, so I'm throwing spares with this.)

So you have a heavy oil ball, a heavy oil ball, a slightly less heavy oil ball, a heavy oil ball, and a plastic ball.

What do you use when the oil breaks down? You've got no medium oil balls or light oil balls, just a bunch of heavy oil balls. You don't seem to huge on brand loyalty or is there one brand in particular that you'd like to use?

Anywho, you need to get a lighter oil ball. The Natural Pearl probably isn't a bad choice. It'll help on those drier lanes. And if it doesn't roll aggressively enough, you could sand it down a little.

Medium oil balls-Roto Grip Shatter or Wrecker,Columbia 300 VOW,Storm Frantic-Manic or Fringe-Hy Road or Cross Roads

Light oil balls-Roto Grip Scream or Shout,Brunswick Karma Pearl or hybrid,Ebonite Cyclone,Storm Tropical Heat or Breeze

Dry lane-Brunswick Slingshot or karma Pearl

A serious bowler will have at least 1 medium oil,1 light oil and a dry lane ball as part of their arsenal.

My Nano Pearl is drilled weakly, so its my medium oil ball, but even after they break down a lot (more so on house patterns) I start to run out of room. Thats why I need a ball like the Natural Pearl.

I like storm a lot, so I'm leaning towards them/roto grip.

My medium oil ball is the Frantic. I love it personally. Very strong backend. Hits the pocket and just wants to keep going. It's a very versatile ball IMO. I can throw just about any line I want with it and still be effective.

I'm not made of money, so I need to be selective on what balls I buy. I'll look into that though.

Frantic and shatter are both really good balls. I have both. The Frantic for me is more lane specific and jumps alot. I prefer the Shatter which is more predictible.

Sounds like you just bowling ball envy. What are you lacking in or struggling with? Lane conditions? Bowling against crankers? It may not be necessary to have allot of bowling balls.

Dry lanes makes me loft way too much.

And my rev rate is higher then most crankers. So a no to that one.

With your rev rate and speed, I would suggest the Purple and Black Hybrid Tropical Heat. The core isn't about hooking a lot of the lane, but is more focused on power through the pin deck. It is very adjustable with different wrist positions, and isn't going to be super jumpy for you. It will be a solid fall back ball when your other equipment reads too early. I wouldn't suggest a polished ball for you, simply because with your rev rate you will see a lot of over/under.

Thanks! I looked into that ball and I like it a lot. Plus it is in my price range!
