For those who have seen my videos, I plant my fifth step when I throw my ball. It had been working for me, but it means I have less time to release my ball because I'm no longer in motion. Watched a couple videos my coach took of me and I finally figured it out. I don't bring my foot down enough so my the front half of my foot doesn't get down. Fixed it pretty quickly and while I don't slide much (I need new shoes), it seemed to add a lot to my shot. The alley I was at doesn't have radar guns so I couldn't see what my speed was but I feel like I was shooting 16mph easily on my shots. Maybe faster. But my balls were hitting so much harder.

Also got to throw my Sync and I like it. Hits the pocket and rips through it.

Congratulations on working on getting back your slide!

You can try to revive your sliding sole with a wire brush (http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-accessories/Brunswick/5178/Brass-Shoe-Brush.html) or possibly use a shoe slider (http://www.bowlingball.com/products/bowling-accessories/Storm/8990/Shoe-Slide.html)

Also, congrats on the Sync; that ball is a beast :)

Could also just rub a small amount of baby power on my shoe. That's works too.

I got my shoes back in 2004 so it may be time to get a new pair.

As the sole wants to slide and the heel want to brake, my coach had me focus on lifting the heel of the sliding foot slightly. As long as I am in a good, balanced lunge position there should be some balanced slide. I also use an S10 pad on my shoe.

Glad to hear that it's back. It also saves on a lot of leg and back pain as you get older. I use Dexter shoes with removable soles, (2nd pair in 20+years) and I was having a problem with the approaches a couple of years ago. Purchased a new pad, a felt S10, and problem was solved. I like a slick approach vs a slow sticky one and this pad changed it all for me. Highly recommended product.

I believe I have a wrong reference. I was thinking of "Phineas J Whoppee". Correct me if I am wrong. It has been a long time since I was a child.

I usually have this problem when i clean off my shoes specifically the heel. Normally dirt and other things with get on the heel giving me a slight slide then digs in for brake but when i clean it off it just breaks. I guess i have to work on raising my heel a bit! That extra brake was good for going semi cranker style though lol
