How many here has ever bowled one of those Andy Varipapa 300 games???

I bowled one of them last night during the Thursday night league.
I finished off the second game with the last 8 strikes and started
off the third game with the first 7 strikes for 15 in a row which is
what we always called a Andy Varipapa 300 game.

I always heard any time you string at least 12 in a row between 2
games it is always called a Andy Varipapa 300 game anyone else
ever called it that here and had one of them?

I've never heard of it. I google'd it and apparentally it's true, but I've never done it. The closest I've come is 11 in a row between 2 games.

I've actually had 13 in a row between games.

Finished my first game with 6 in a row, and then had the front 7 my next game. -__-

14 in a row.....finished with 11 and started with 3. Had 13 once, 12 once, and 11 a few times too.

What a great topic!! Personally, I've strung 7 straight in one game and 8 straight between two games.
Never heard the reference before, but I love picking up on new bowling terms and trivia. Thanks for sharing!

Funny you should ask. In practice today I had the last 6 of one game (finished with a 236) and then had the first 11 of my last practice game, so I had 18 in a row today...

I've done it at least half a dozen times. Worst was a 17-strike spree, but split/opened on either end of it so neither game was spectacular.

Worst part is I haven't hit a sanctioned 300 yet, so it's frustrating to have that many streaks but none in a single game. I've hit 300 in practice a couple times, but none in league or tourney play.

I went ahead and satisfied my curiosity today, reading up on Andy Varipapa.

I've done it during league a couple of times for something like 16 or 17 in a row. I had a practice session the Saturday after Thanksgiving where I had 30 in a row, spared then struck out.

Yeah I have done that, finish with 8 start with 5.
