DV8 marauder or brunswick meanstreak brawler?

Hello ,


Im looking to add or a DV8 Marauder or a Meanstreak brawler to my bag.
At the moment i have a defiant edge , fire road and a vivid.
I love the fire road it goes long for me with a strong backend move but i seem to have problems with it once the lanes get some dryer and then i have to move way in and i dont feel to good playing that area. So im looking into a ball that i can go to when my fire road hooks to hard and also use it when the lanes are dryer in general.
My defiant edge is a ball i liked but since i got used to my fire road i dont use it so mutch anymore i only use it in 1 ally i come around the week.
(already lined up to get it surface changed maybe get it pluged and redrilled)
My vivid is my go to when its a little slick and my fire road wont do the job for me.

My style is med revs speed around 15-16mph standing 18-20board with my feed and trowing to 8-10board.

What would u recomment me?

I'm no ball expert but both the balls you mention are more aggressive than the fire road. I would imagine that neither would work well if the lanes are already too dry for the fire road. Just my 2 cents. Of course a lot would depend on how your ball is drilled compared to how you drill the new one.

As Georgia said, neither ball is weak, i would look into a weaker ball such as a ringer, or slingshot, both balls are meant for drier conditions.

I would recommend Brunswick Karma Pearl or Slingshot,RotoGrip Sream or Shout,Storm Tropical Breeze or Heat,AMF Cobra,Columbia 300 U2,Hammer Taboo spare,Ebonite Cyclone. All these balls are for dry-light oil.

I believe that either ball could work, but it depends upon certain things. It depends upon the way the ball is drilled, whether it is sanded, polished, or matte, the way you throw it (or if you are willing to change your throw slightly to match the changing conditions. I have a Marauder Madness and I throw it on light oil on one league and heavy oil on another. One of my teammates has the Marauder and throws it on the same conditions as I, but we are both strokers (I am a power stroker though) and they both work good for us.

You should talk to your bowling alleys pro shop operator for some tips on what ball you should get. It will benefit you (most likely) both financially and in your game

My Marauder is drilled 50° X 4" X 35° and is too strong to play where you are for me. Either could work but you would need to have it drilled to go very long so make sure the driller understands exactly what, when and where you want the ball to do what.

I love my Marauder...it's my go to ball.It's drilled for length so it is less handy on heavier oil or when there has been alot of carry down...or so it seems...
