I have a HRR oob, a too reckless sanded to 2000 grit and a crossroad oob.

My main question is about the too reckless and correct me if im wrong will have a similar purpose as the HRR since theyre both at 2000 grit with the hrr having a stronger core. Im trying to make it a transition ball between the HRR and the crossroad.

What im thinking is taking the too reckless to 500 grit then putting a rough buff polish it so its not quite oob finish and will still have a earlier read than the crossroad. Another option i was thinking is taking the HRR to 1000 grit(idk if thatll give it too much bite) and leave the too reckless at 2000

Appreciate the help :)

Ummmm, which do you really need? A ball between the HRR and Crossroad or a stronger biting HRR?

My pin up HRR I changed to 4000 plus added 7 coats of polish. It works great right after my pin down HRR oob finish. For a THS I can actually use the polished HRR and play multiple lines. Oob HRR I can't use at my local THS (real old wood) without lofting the gutter from the start.

Rough buff the Too Reckless and see how you like it. You could always add polish later and change the surface from what the R&D tells you.

im basically just trying to make all the pieces fit. Id prefer to keep the HRR at oob and have to too reckless come between the hrr and crossroad. ill try out the ruff buff and see what happens
