I've already started responding to posts but thought I would introduce myself officially.

Ive been bowling for about 18months. I am 36. I picked up bowling after I had knee surgery. I love sports but this injury was gonna pretty much end that. Bowling was something I could do that didn't involve a lot of twisting or impacts. I bowled with my little bro and had a lot of fun as that was the first activity I was able to do. came back home and found myself wanting to go bowling again. I was taking my dad almost everyday for a couple weeks when the manager at bowling alley signed us up for a league. I grabbed my wife and aunt to complete the team. I bought my first ball and shoes a couple weeks later.

21 balls, 7 bags, and 3 shoes later, Im completely hooked. Ive been a part of motocross boards and was looking for a bowling equivalent to fill that social sharing of ideas and experiences.

Northern cali. Bay area.

I have given away about 4 balls and sold a couple others. Think im at 15 or 16 now. I have some that i only use for practice. But yes, they all get used at some point.

Welcome Josh. Good to hear you've got something to fill your passion for sports as well as a great outlet to discuss the sport. Always a pleasure to connect with many bowlers, both locally here in the Philly area as well as across the continent - and the world - online, especially here at BowlingBoards.com

Yes I went a little overboard with the purchases. When I see people who have been using the same ball for 10yrs it drives me nuts haha. I like new stuff. My bike passion was probably worse as there is far more to buy.

Im in San Jose area btw. Sacramento a couple hours away.

My family would have a fit if I bought 21 balls! I get enough grief for the three that I have (I started 3-4 weeks ago). I plan on buying one more in the next month or two. If you have that much bowling gear, how many bikes do you have?

3 dirtbikes and 1 street bike.

My wife has been supportive most of the time. I usually have a very good reason when presenting the "I need another ball honey" talk

Ah yes. It's called Aquisition Syndrome. It's really bad with guitars (GAS!) I've had with quads and accessories. To my credit I started out with a Blaster and put my *** time in on it for two years before I moved up to my Raptor 700!

Hubby went through the VW aquisition syndrome. Started out with a beat up vert. He got tired of polishing the polish so he got a Westy that was supposed to be a weekend camper. It turned into a full resto. Then he built a baja. We went to far too many Pomona swapmeets at zero dark thirty to wait in line for some original VW part that was caked in bird poop. Crazy!

Now it's bowling balls and all the goodies, new shoes, new bag, powders, tapes, brushes, cleaners, etc. Got the Storm Synch is in my sights (need a heavy oil ball! Really!!) I'm hooked!

I've had something like twelve bowling balls in the past fifteen years of bowling. You've almost doubled that number in 1/10 the number of years! Even though I have some newer equipment, I don't like to retire anything I own, so it all gets pulled out some time or the other. Right now I'm frequently using a ~27 year old ball.
