539 last night in my Monday night league. 160something plus a 170something then 197. I am getting so frustrated by the number of wrapped 10s I am leaving (left 6 wrapped 10s in the last game alone)! Someone help me!

With a couple of 299's, 300's, and an 800 series, I figured you would be the last person to ask for help. :D

Lol, you may note that most of my honor scores came many moons ago. The game has changed drastically! So many of the adjustments one needs to make these days are completely counterintuitive! I am a old dog trying to learn a game very different from what it was back in the 70's and 80's when I was active in bowling...

6 wrap ten pins?

Were you using an early rolling ball?

I was using a Storm Reign of Power drilled 65 x 4.75 x 65....

About the 10 pins... Is the ball completing it's transition into a roll before hitting the pins?

Based on this video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNOmeGHAjKA
It's pretty hard to get good visual feedback as to the transition.

This Video using the Lucid shows the ball transition better.

The ball practically appears to change color (due to different rotation)

This is one of the biggest differences I see with todays balls compared to the 80's.
When you release the ball, the core will be in an unstable rotation. If the ball hits the pins in this unstable rotation there will be a significant amount of deflection. If however the ball has completed it's transition, the ball drive through the pins much straighter.

Check out this video

Watch the amount of ball deflection whenever there is a 10 pin left (until the messenger takes it out)

Oops. Yeah, just noticed the date. :D

Well, at revs at 368 and speed over 16, I'd say you shoot more of a slight arching shot? Maybe you're ball is coming it too high or lite?

Yeah, I hook the ball more than a "down and in" player but not as much as a 550RPM cranker. My favorite shot is between boards 8 and 13 from about 7 boards left of center...

The usual margin of error on a THS is around 5 boards. Seems as if you're on the left edge of that area. Either move a board right or get the ball out a board further.
