Hey all!

I recently got some abralon pads to experiment with surfaces but I have a question. I am not sure exactly how to use them. How do I use abralon properly? Is there steps to changing the surface? For example, if I was sanding to a 1000 gritt finish, can I go straight to the 1000 gritt pad or do I have to start with some of the other pads? Why is this so?

Thanks,
Casey

By using the lower grits and working up, it allows for a smoother transition between the different phases.

I found this on bowlingball.com in regards to resurfacing Storm bowling balls back to factory finish. The article explains about different grits and how to use them.

It's usually best to sand using 6 sides. You should apply water to the surface of the ball during the process to lubricate the pads, so you don't wear them out too fast.

Also if possible, use a ball spinner, for more even sanding.
