How is your spare ball drilled?

Do you guys recommend fingertip or conventional drill on spare balls?

It's easier if it's the same drilling as your other balls, so the release will feel the same. All my bowling balls are drilled finger tip, INCLUDING my spare ball. Of course, if I ever used it.

The entire appeal of a spare ball (if it's in compliment with an arsenal of hooking balls) is that you can throw with your normal grip/release but take the oil and lane friction out of the equation.

Makes no sense to drill conventional. Why not just use an alley ball?

your fingers drilled the same way on the spare ball.

You do not want to have two different feeling bowling
balls when going from the strike ball to the spare ball.

I know a couple of people that use fingertip on their
strike ball and then they use a conventional grip their
spare ball but they are not all that accurate on spares.

this. Ive been using a house ball for spares lately and im good usually but i dont feel i have as much control over the ball when its drilled conventional

No spare ball here. I kill the ball for the ten pin and I prefer that the ball have some surface so it has a chance of grabbing just enough to stay on the lane if I miss right.

I would definitely recommend getting your spare ball set up the same way as your Misfit; even down to the thumb slug and the finger tip inserts.
