For most of you know me already you know I am a mentally Handicap Bowler been bowling for 5 years seriously in leagues once a week and I practice once a week so I bowl a total of 6 games 2 days a week ( 3 each per day ) I just found out this year that I could go to the Special Olympics that, that was even possible now bowling as my chosen profession seems possible cause its all I think about its all I wanna do I can't get it out of my head its the only thing that makes me happy besides the beach when I am in Florida cause if had my choice I would live there in fact, the fact I didn't get to go there on vacation this past year has put me in a depression but Bowling has made me a little bit happy if I can't be happy at the beach I mean then bowling helped a little bit. The perfect life for me would be bowling in Florida but life isn't perfect, or fair, At least I have a Palm Tree in my house, its a small one I bought at Walgreen's. Anyway back on topic I want to know is how far could someone like me mentally handicap ADHD and Manic Depressive and Borderline everything else in the mental health book take bowling as a profession?

Sara,
I do not see why anyone with any disability or disease could not do anything that they wanted. Just like any other person. If you want something bad enough and you put in all the work and effort to get you there, then why not? I'm sure it will not be an easy road, but nothing worth it is ever easy. I moved from Ohio to Florida just over 1 year ago. It took me a few years to save up enough, find a good place to move and make all the arrangements. And even then, most of that didn't work out. I struggled for quite awhile, but with some hard work and not letting the troubles get the best of me, I am now loving life here in Florida and couldn't be happier. It would have been easy to give up and move back home where I had the help of my family, but I really wanted to live here so I stayed and fought it out. The things you want are not always easy to get, but if it's worth it to you, you should work hard at making it happen.

Sara, everything you listed, those are just obstacles. Just as everyone without a disability has obstacles, so don't you. Your are just known to you while many people don't realize or care what their personal obstacles are. Stuff like ADHD makes it harder, not impossible to fulfill your dream.
Keep striving, keep practicing. I have a banner in my office that reads, "Strive for perfection, settle for excellence". I've lived that motto since junior high and while I've perfected nothing I will never give up trying.

Thanks and I will work hard at getting it and maybe one day me and my family can live where you are in Florida cause that my dream home I love the beach and I love the sun and its more sunnier there then it is here in Ky we always go to Florida in the fall to Tampa well it near Tampa is more like St Pete Madeira Beach John's Pass near Treasure Island and right across the bridge from St Pete you might know where I am talking about since you live there and Bob might know. I love it there wish I lived there I would pack up and move today if had the money if ever won the lottery I am buying a house or condo there so we can go there for the winter and fish and bowl I would bowl there and fish.
