Mo's Skip A Grit.

I like the comment... On a microscopic level.....

Who can look at the ball on a microscopic level?

Oh right, I can with the Jayhawk Ball Surface Scanner (http://www.jayhawkbowling.com/Products/Surface_Scanner.html)

I know you do not need a ball spinner to resurface, even though it helps a lot. What would you recommend for a low rev, high speed Brutal nightmare? its Out of box is 500 Grit Siaair w / Rough Buff.

Recommend for what? What's it doing that you don't want it to do? My teammate has the BN and is very speed dominant. He gets to the pocket fine. All I can get so far is the 4-7. If I owned that ball, it would just come out for super heavy and long patterns or I would bring it to 4000 grit PLUS rough buff and high gloss.
If you're not getting the BN to hook then I need to see a video.

I had the opportunity to scan a brand new Brutal Nightmare today.
It checked in at 5500 grit.

So is there something different with how thier website is saying "500 Siaair Micro Pad; Rough Buff", but you scan it at 5500 grit?

To Bilf, I have a few videos from about 2 weeks ago I am trying to upload onto youtube, wasn't working for me last night so I will try again tonight. Also plan to take some more this week if I can get to practice.

There are grit charts available on-line but 500 siaair and 500 grit sandpaper are different grits. Abralon and siaair use the same grit rating system.
I believe that chart is in our FAQ section.

I think the 5500 grit reading is coming from the Rough Buff, not the sanding pad.

I'm sure you're correct Mike. My point wasn't how much the polish potentially smoothed out the ball but rather the way it appeared that the questioner thought 500 abralon and 500 sandpaper were the same thing.
