what is 1 thing you wish you had never tried... BOWLING... while:
taking your STANCE....
standing on the APPROACH...
taking STEPS to the foul line...
watching your TARGET...
RELEASING your ball...
during your FOLLOW-THROUGH...
what is the 1 thing you wish you had never, never ever done in a bowling alley?;)

Last game of seniors league, I bowled the whole game upside-down backwards and between my legs! I did achieve my goal, but fear brain damage!

1. stance, backwards, with legs spread

2. steps to the foul line, then about-face with back to pins!

3. watching target,,, looks strange upside down, but what's life without a challenge!

4. My release was a two hand style,, I was surprised at the amount of loft, and revolutions I was able to get between my legs!

5. follow through..... was not bad, but painful!! ouch!!

6. One thing I wished I had never EVER DONE in a Alley,,,,,,,,, bowled upside down for 11 frames!! (had a spare in the 10th)!

gotta ask why did you do that? were you challenged into it? what was your final score after that?

I had one strike a couple spares.... LOL.... I did it because I could!!!! Judy, ask Jason, I am WeIrD!! Some say not playing with a full deck,,, others a Half a bubble OFF!! Score was in the low 100's,,, I want to say 103....! My goal was hit 100, have 1 strike, and 1 spare,,,, Next time my goal will be 150! I think I can do it... I was "Just getting the hang of it, in the last few frames"!

Ummm I brang my ball I haven't bowled with for a few months because you would never need it in leage or open bowling cause it is relly relly early and it was a Tornament so I brang it just in case! So sayin ime 13 my hand grows tremendously saying I bowl 30 games a week my thumb was fairly tight. So I was gonna throw it and got in my stance.... Threw the ball.... Went with the ball about half way down the lane.... Painful

been there done that 1/2 way down the lane so much oil could not get up had to have help and even then it was a slow crawl
back then was not able to stand up with out help my skorts were drenched in oil and it was such an embarrassing and scary feeling could not concentrate to bowl during league play after that. You see that happened during practice warm up for league.

in your own way you are something else bowling like that and able to bowl a 300 on top of it that is DY NO MITE!!!
it is so cool that you can have so much fun and enjoy bowling the way you do and then turn right around and be
so competitive enough to pull out the 300... totally AMAZING!!! Some may even say:
UNBOWLIEVEABLE

VERY funny!!! You might even say I am ,,,,get ready Judy: DY NO MIKE!! LOL........ I do enjoy bowling, and don't take it very seriously like MANY around me do! If it was not fun, and if I can't play with the sport while bowling, then I wouldn't bowl!

Like on this web site,,, there is a place for ICEMAN!! Even though many may be left COLD with my threads, and comments! Its all about having fun, and doing the best you can!! ((But never getting to carried away with your own self esteem) I am probably one of the MOST HUMBLE bowlers, at age 64, that has bowled a 300 game. I hope to keep that attitude till hell freezes over!! LOL Iceman.... I like your threads JUDY,,, keep up the good questions, and thanks for your comments!!!

Bowling at all? If someone can throw a 103 upside down and I struggle to get that bowling normally, I don't think I've chosen my new obsession well.

Sure you have. My daughter started with a 102 average her freshman year of high school. Senior year she was captain of the team and finished fourth at State. Today she is averaging 235 in our summer league. We all start somewhere and it comes easier for some than others but eventually you can be where you want to be in this game.

I can't say there is anything i wish I did not do. Everything is part of the learning process for me.

If I can think of anything, it would be listening to my wife. She lectures me about bringing too many balls. Listening to her we hauled the Raw Hammer Jacked and the Tzone for spares. Sunday afternoon the lanes were dry, probably not being oiled all weekend, and here I am with a reactive resin early break ball. I tried everything I could think of and finally remembered that I could add more roll and cut back on the reves by moving the thumb and index fingers close to center.

Even then, playing from far left over the 2nd mark, I was able to find he pocket. I finally finished using my TZone as a first ball.

Better to listen to the wife and bowl like crap dealing with the lanes than to not listen to the wife, bowl great and deal with a pissed off wife.

"Better to listen to the wife and bowl like crap dealing with the lanes than to not listen to the wife, bowl great and deal with a pissed off wife."

Is that the bowling version of the Chinese proverb ......

"Happy Wife,
Hapy Life"

More like...

"Happy wife,
Crappy Bowl"

I don't regret anything that I've tried while bowling. Either it worked, showed possibilities, or proved to be something I either can't or shouldn't do.

My only regret is that during my first season of sport bowling I got up and took my turn while some one on the adjacent pair was in the tenth frame of a potential perfect game. In my regular league there had only been one 300 game in 60+ years so I was unaware of the unwritten rule that everyone around the person going for the 300 has to stop and get very quiet so that the bowler can experience the ultimate pre-shot nervousness. I wasn't even aware there was a potential 300 being bowled since it was in the other league.
