Hello all,

My name is Michael Bauer and I am glad to be a part of this forum as well as the bowling community in general. I am 28, married and live in Central Florida. I am an Electromechanical Engineering Designer by trade but I also run my local pro shop in the evenings at Shore Lanes Merritt Island. Bowling is something that I picked up late, at age 20, but I was immediately hooked and I have been in the bowling center almost daily since the first time I attempted to bowl.

As a little background on my bowling, I have been a PBA Member for the last three years, with a sport average over the last two years sitting at 197. I held the high average in my local center for a league season (which has now been topped) at 238.51 and have also had 6-300 games (4 sanctioned) and 3 sanctioned 800 series with a high of 815. I am a Storm Staffer and have been a part of their staff group for three years and hope to continue that partnership for many more years.

Being able to be coached by some of the best coaches in the world has been one of the best parts of me being within the bowling world, including; Tom Blasco, Richard Shockley, Del Ballard, Caroline-Dorin Ballard, Randy Pedersen, Hank Boomershine, Mike Machuga and Jason Couch. Without their influences I would not be the bowler I am today and hopefully those relationships will remain intact so that I can continue to progress in the game.

As far as my own coaching, I am the Head Coach of the Cocoa High School Tigers Bowling Program (2 years) and in that time we have captured two District Titles as well as a State Title in 2011. I was lucky enough to have two of my bowlers leave last season (after their Senior Year) with full ride scholarships to bowl at Victory University. Running a FHSAA Program has taught me quite a bit of how to manage and control the psychology of my student-athletes and that has transpired into a better mental outlook for myself within my own bowling competitions. I also head the coaching program for Shore Lanes Merritt Island Youth Bowling with the help of USBC National Youth Board Member, Erik Galganski.

Before finding this forum I frequented a few others including bowlingcommunity forums in which I have amassed over 4,500 posts and become one of their "Expert/Top Contributor" members. I enjoy getting on and talking with others about something we are both passionate about and I spend most of my free time on the forums learning from others as well as coaching or giving advice as often as I can.

I also run a bowling YouTube Channel, sk8sbowlingreviews, where I put together videos including ball reviews, coaching tips and tricks, pro shop behind the scenes, etc. Within these videos I have tried to keep the channel fresh and bring in new and innovative ideas with different formats as often as I can. For instance, I am now complete with two full episodes of an interactive "learning to adjust" series that I call "Language of the Pins". Also, a series I am putting together (one episode is live) where I go behind the scenes to teach pro shop information "Between the Lines" has also found a decent approval. I hope I can continue putting out videos that people honestly enjoy watching, I take pride in my work so for me it is important for it to be something others want to see. Ball reviews on YouTube tend to get boring so I wanted to make sure I went above and beyond the typical review you see, so I decide to animate mine as much as I possibly can as well as doing voice over commentary so that the viewer can understand what is happening and how each ball compared for me overall as opposed to just the few shots one can typically see. I feel it has allowed me to connect a little more with my audience and relate to what the typical bowler would like to see in a video.

I understand this is quite the winded post, I appreciate all who have read through and grown to know a little more about me. I hope I can contribute here and become a part of the community for a long time to come. I hope to make quite a few friends in the process and learn a few things to continue the endeavor I have already enjoyed so much.

Have a great day and, as always, "Bowl up a STORM!"

Michael Bauer

I watched a couple of your ball reaction videos this morning, and want to say that the production of the videos is very well put together (and look very cool). Welcome to the boards
