Many of us have bowling in city, regional or even pro level bowling tournaments. Lets hear what your best and worst stories are. And remember please keep it clean.:)

Several years ago I stopped in to visit with the Pennsylvania State Championship Tournament Director during the tournament. While we were talking a lane monitor came into the office and said that several bowlers are refusing to bowl because of a problem on the lanes. The TD and I walked to the lanes to see what was happening. We expected to find several anebriated people, but that is not what we found. We asked the problem and were told that the bowlers marks were moving on the lane. We thought ,Yeah right. Anyway we checked out the lane and found nothing. We were just about to require them to start bowling again when I saw the second arrow move. I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I continued to watch the second arrow and 15 seconds or so later it moved again. By this time the bowlers were doubled over they were laughing so hard. I walked down the ball return. I found a cockroach stuck in the oil right on the second arrow. It was trying to move but it couldn't get enough traction. We picked it up with a tissue and as soon as the squad quit laughing bowling resumed.

I think this is a wide open question ....would the best tournament be one that you won or made money in ?

Love bowling Nationals but have yet to do well yet so I wouldnt say its my fave but any tournament I have won would be my fave tournament

Just my 2cents here
:)

I agree the ones that you win are sometimes the best for sure.

My best tournament story would be bowling the city USBC tournament couples with my wife. I have played in the ABT and other formats, yet bowling with my wife was great. We actually did so well together that we were in first until the last squad when a guy with a 140 average bowled a 279. But hey we got
2ND and we had a lot of fun.

Wow so with the speeding ticket that would have gotten me. Was it before or after the tourney?

If before it would have really changed my mental game.
