My super wife gave me a gift certificate to the Pro Shop where I get all my Bowling Balls drilled as a Brthday/Fathers' Day gift! The fact that I ordered a Marvel Pearl with it can't be blamed on me then, can it?? It would be HER fault, right? At any rate, picking that baby up tomorrow and I am excited...

As long as you don't tell her that it's her fault you're fine.

I wish my wife had faults like that!
Enjoy it Jay and post a review.

Okay, well here it goes. I had the Marvel Pearl (15 pound) drilled up to go long and strong (4.75 x 4 x 1). I bowled two games of practice wityh this on a burned condition first and I have to say it really performed. Two games of practice came to a 244 and a 259 as my first two games out of the box. Needless to say, I was excited to bowl in my Wednesday AM Oldies but Goodies league. WHat a difference a day makes - I started off blowing by a couple of 7 pin leaves (I left 6 x 7s today) and leaving some splits. Carry was good except for the swishing 7s and I bowled a 202, 214, 217 for a 633. The fact I did not bowl as well as I had hoped had nothing to do with the Marvel Pearl. I was off in my timing and got pretty mad at myself. In three games I threw 24 strikes and still could not score well...too many bone-headed errors.

Now the good news - the Marvel Pearl breezed through the heads every shot (even on the burned condition). It never started up too early, though it did jump hard on one first ball when it hit dry boards, but that was my fault as I got it too far out. I wanted a "hockey stick" and I got one. When it moved to the pocket, there was no stopping it and it continued to move left as it moved through the pin deck. I can also say that this ball mkes a different noise when it hits the pins - someting I have found in only one other ball in my arsenal (the DV8 Brutal Nightmare). The sound can only be described as more of a "ping" than a "pop" as it hit the pins.

I have balls that hook more and I have balls that react sooner, but this is a ball I wanted to rev up easily and expand the pocket. The Marvel does this very well.

Well thank you for the informative review. One never knows, I may end up having to try a new Storm product one of these days.
