Layout for Roto Grip Disturbed

So lately, I've been reading and researching more on layouts since my newly one disturbed is on the way (thanks again admins!).

I don't know my axis tilt, though I suspect it is very low as I have a very high track (maybe a 1/3-1/4 away from my middle finger, it is CLOSE). I throw in the neighborhood of 14.5 -15 mph according to the house score machines say, but I don't know what the speed is off my hand nor the rpm though If I had to guess, I'd say it was > 300. I don't know my PAP either, so when I had my Paranormal drilled, the guy at the pro shop did the safe 4 x 4 x 2 ; the pin is almost parallel (the pin is up) with my ring finger (I might have said middle finger in a different thread but I am incorrect, it is ring finger).

I'm very happy with the drilling of my paranormal. I play deep since the ball requires a lot of oil. Usually starting somewhere around board 36-37 and throwing at 16-17. I want to do about the same with the disturbed, and from what I understand, the disturbed requires a good amount of oil as well though it does have a smoother reaction on drier backends.

I wanted to get your guys' opinions on the layout. Should I think about using a balance hole to keep the reaction smooth and under control? Should I use the same 4 x 4 x 2 layout w/ balance hole or not?

I would suggest you have the guy at the Pro shop watch you
throw a few balls and if he knows what he is doing he can do
a guesstimate on your RPM's and he can measure your axis tilt
and have him to check your PAP to find out what it is.

Then you can use the info from that to decide on what would
be the best layout to use to get the reaction from the ball that
you want to see out on the lanes.

Yeah you could go with the safe drill of 4 x 4 x 2 but why not
try to get all you can out of your new ball by fine tuning the
layout and not copying the same reaction of your paranormal.

In fresh oil you can safely add 3 mph to the alley speed to get an approximate at release. Yours being 17.5-18 mph, right about what the USBC studies say is optimal.
As for the layout, I agree with Bill above me.

Ya it's always best to get your pro shop guy more involved the. Just here's a ball drill it. If he is any good he will be more then willing to see how you throw and map out the best lay out for what YOU want the ball to do. Ps let me know what you think of this ball. I'm giving the one I won to Nomad tonight at league I can't wait to see his face. He is not a talker so getting info about the ball out of him will be to much work so it's up to you to let me know what I'm missing out on ;)

Haha, can do Jaescrub. I just hope I get it relatively soon. I messaged the admins Monday but haven't received any response on when I should be expecting it. I don't want to be pushy about it lol.

The longer they have run this giveaway the longer it seems to take to get it. The first time I had the ball within the week. The second time tool about ten days.

I think it depends on the brand. I got the Brunswick in about a week maybe a day or two longer because of the holiday. The others RG, Storm seem to be taking longer.
